Hey! Excited for my first Art War. I'm still figuring out what I'm doing, digital art is an area of improvement for me so most of my work will be traditional. As a student, I'm hoping to see and learn from everyone's submissions.

The first few sketches and concepts I've done. I've ended up going for a champion of light who uses some kind of elemental power, either through typical magic or a martial arts-based fighting style. Details such as lore and names will come once a design has been settled on more firmly.

Colour update! Will be playing with different variations later, but these are just to get a feel for what kind of colour scheme I'll be going for. Also started researching and jotting down some potential names too.

Finally made the decision of fire and tested some colour variations, including a dark colour scheme as an experiment. I think I'll be going with #4, of course re-adding the gradient waist and glowing lines on her skin.

I'll update the thread title to reflect this, but a name has also been chosen for this champion, with some thanks to a friend who knows much more Chinese than I do. Zhū Huáng (朱凰) - Zhū (朱) meaning cinnabar, vermillion, bright red; Huáng (凰) meaning phoenix. If anybody notices a glaring mistake in that, please let me know!

Very rough sketches for the illustration, just to get the ideas down and to get a feel for what I want to go with. Added the dragon companion to fill space originally and now it's kind of stuck.
