Yo, am I doing this right?

Hello everyone! I decided to give this whoe art blog-deal a go, since I really wanna git gud at drawing to hopefully one day make a career out of it. I am currently taking a class in 3D design, but I seem to enjoy drawing more than sculpting. At least for now.

I will be uploading sketches, sculpts, models and such and I welcome any constructive critisism thrown my way. Bants are also welcome  I consider my current art somewhat at the level of a dumpster fire and I am looking forward to get better!

Also, if I and Achrnoic (go check him out he's a cool guy) seem to upload a lot of the same stuff it's not coincidental, we're in the same class, sitting right next to eachother. So some "inspiration" (read: me stealing his stuff) is bound to happen.

Nice silhouettes!

Just a thought:
Since it's the beginning of the design phase, it might be good to explore some different poses to get the feel of the character down more- It looks like a female sorcerer's pose, but some of the silhouettes seem to imply heavy armour/ warrior class.

Thank you!

I see your point. I choes that pose because I didn't know what charcter I wanted to create, so I just chose a pose I like to look at. It also makes it obvious that the character is female, as some of these sets could easily be mistaken for male.

Hey, welcome friend! Looking forward to more uploads!

10 days later

Some value practice! Shoes are smudgy, it's still a WIP. And I'm at a loss about what to do with the lineart. On one had, I want to keep it, but on the other I want to break loose of it since "real art" doesn't have lineart in the finished pieces.
(inb4 I trigger someone with that last sentence)

You reap what you sow.

Very satisfied with this. My initial idea didn't have an escaped android in a pond, but that's where I ended up. I got so immersed in my drawing and zoned completely out, only being slightly distracted by my stomach's famished rumbles. Haven't had such a strong cognitive shift in a while.
I'll definitely continue with this piece.

Nice stuff in here!

Glad to see you doing the construction for your figures. It pays off so much!

Excited to see more!
