Next up: facial features!

While watching the lesson I just drew along and then I did some on my own. After that I studied the facial features from reference and also practiced shading.

And finally: the full head!

At first I drew the example head from the lesson while watching the video and pausing it every now and again.

After going through the Anatomy 1 class, I decided to redraw this old selfportrait I did two years ago. Back then I was still fairly new to digital art. It's not the best piece I did, but you have to start somewhere. I am pretty happy with the redraw version of it.

Here I fixed some stuff Marc pointed out in the stream.

Hey there!

So I've been going through the Perspective 2 class. Below are just some exercises I did to get used to the new perspective types.

I had a lot of fun doing these 3-point perspective pieces. I'm fascinated by how adding just 1 more vanishing point can make the scene so much more impressive than 2pp. Below I added some process pictures (from lineart to shading and minor fixes). After watching Marcs feedback I did some adjustments. In the picture with the wall overgrown with plants I redid most of the arches and adjusted the distance between them.

I worked on the other perspective assignment. Here is the character in 4-point perspective.

After I finished the character I drew a background in the same perspective. Originally I didn't plan to do that, so that's why my vanishing points are a little too close. It makes the picture look too distorted. I stretched it a little bit, but not too much because otherwise the characters perspective wouldn't match anymore. I didn't want to redo the whole thing again. Then I finally drew his armor, added some details, shading and color. I didn't want to spend too much time on this piece. Well anyway, the finished piece is below. I'll start watching the Term 3 videos now, I'm excited to learn more stuff!

Looks good Cassandra! The final picture is impressive despite having been drawn from imagination especially the shirt.
I haven't reached this part of the course yet, but I think your clothing studies could gain more value from having darker darks and brighter brights. I desaturated the reference picture here for comparison - I think this could create even better looking clothing!

Hey @Aw_Ralex, thanks for your suggestion! I wouldn't have noticed it on my own.

I applied it to the clothing here, I left the old one there for comparison. I think it really makes a difference.
