didn't have much time today but here are some gesture drawings!

more cylinder practice for the past couple days - today I tried drawing from imagination so that's why the cylinders may look funky lol
feedback is always appreciated!

You're doing great. I'm not sure how long you've been on term 1 or how you feel but I think you can move on to the next term pretty soon.

@Silver_io Thank you! I haven’t been on term 1 for long - I think almost a month but not quite. I plan on learning the rest of term 1 next week with the start of perspective; but it means a lot that I’m making some progress (I dont see it yet but its nice to see others see it!)

@prinzmoana Ikr! I try to think of cool poses that I’ve either seen before or I think would look cool in an actual piece later down the road and adding little things like that will help me remember lol
Also thank you!

Hey that's a very neat work process and I bet it will help you down the road 🤔😄

You are doing really well, one thing that I think will help you get a better feel of the volumes and also help you down the road is to draw the elipse of the cylinder all the way through like this. It will be a big increase in difficulty but it will help in many ways! Keep up the good work!

tried adding boxes for the torso and waist

@Lockenheim I'll have to try that when I practice tomorrow! The example you showed definitely makes a difference

I'm just gonna start posting on Fridays b/c I forget to post every time I finish for the day.
So here is this weeks practice
Critiques are always welcome!

These are looking so good, really big level ups. I really love how you are doing these constructions they feel super solid. Keep it up!

happy friday!!

@Lockenheim thank you so much!

tried my first attempt at the 1 point perspective assignment - didn't really go too well since its my first time drawing a room ever :disappointed_relieved: .. maybe next time I wont try putting a huge hole in the wall

Hehaa! I can imagine that hole was very diffucult but you are definitely thinking in perspective! Keep up the hard work, I remember the first perspective assignment was brutal for me, but it does get easier quickly! Keep at it!

wasnt able to work on the 1 point perspective assignment this week but here are some gestures that I had time for!

happy friday!

@prinzmoana - ty so much! i'm really enjoying the gesture drawing  my goal is to be an illustrator or character designer so its my main focus haha
@Lockenheim - it was pretty hard, maybe i'll come back to the idea later down the road bc apocalyptic/abandoned places always look cool to me

The problem with the hole is the horizon. Most important part to remember is that the level of the horizon relates to the height of the camera or viewer. The horizon in this case is about eye level, which means the car would be about 2 metres higher than ground level which would indicate a pretty steep hill behind the the building, which is contradicted by the floor behind the door to the left (which is extremely long, like probably 3 times the room size or more).

Other than that, I don't see any issues. The stuff behind the door just needs to sit lower by about a human length.

Thank you for pointing that out! For the longest time it just looked off to me and I just couldn't understand why till now.
