In regards to the concept sheet... what's considered "good" for a concept sheet? If I have a finished idea but it's not super pretty or anything then is that good enough (because it's just a concept) or should I make it look beautiful and attempt to balance my time between the concept sheet rendering and finishing the illustration? I know it's a weird question

I'd love to compete in something like this, but I'm still very much a novice at digital art, so I'd probably have like 0% chance at even coming close to winning, I'd still like to participate though. Only one problem - I can't decide between the 2 genres! XD

The concept sheet is part of the submission, so it's just as important as the final illustration/3D model.

You can find a definition for fantasy (genre) on wikipedia, it's pretty standard stuff. The rules also state it's a war between genres, so yes the name has meaning and your entry should take that into consideration! Cheers

Hello Dld! Welcome!
For a direct answer to your question you can check the Art War FAQ where all the countries who are allowed are listed. If you can't find your country's name there then unfortunately, you cannot win. Some countries and cities have strict rules about competitions so the exceptions weren't made by Cubebrush.

Not having Twitter isn't a problem as long as you can be contacted by Cubebrush in case you win etc etc.

Okay, so I'm reading the FAQ, and I'm a little confused. It says that pose references are allowed, but then it also says that everything on the concept sheet has to be made by me. So if I find an image on Google, and I use it as a reference for my character, can it be added, or no?

Concept Sheet: Show the front and back of your final design along with any other important sketches you did before moving on to the final illustration. Squeeze everything onto this one sheet.

You are allowed to use photos as pose references, but these don't belong to concept sheet. Everything on Concept sheet needs to be made by you - sketches, designs, front and back of the character etc. No photos.

Tell me please, if my hero is based on MortalKombat reality, then He\She is out of rules or not? He\She will be absolutely new character, but inspired by MK universe.... I started at this weekend, but don't sure about rules...

Please read the FAQ. You can use existing characters as reference or style but you cannot copy an existing character. If you're not sure it's better to be on the safe side and change your concept, but that's up to you.
