Been a few busy days now that I jumped into Term 4. Got quite a bit I'd like to share.
Term 4 - Film and Game Prod
I really appreciate Marc including this information. I realize for many people taking the course, they might be students looking to get into the industry, and many times don't know what actually working in it looks like. This is a really good summary of a production pipeline.
As someone who has been working in IT for several years, as well as having managed my fair share of proyects, it's all very similar. There are, of course, many nuances people will have to face if they go into the industry, but this is overall a good introduction and overview.
Term 4 - Color and Light 1
My head is spinning from all the information here! I've never really been very good at colors, and have limited skill at shadows, so this was all really fascinating to me. I think I'm starting to understand many concepts I never could really understand before (like substractive and additive colors, color harmony theory, etc). I'm excited to start playing around with this new information!
Exercices
Just started with the first exercice for now, and just part of it. I'm posting it now since I do want to keep some traction and got other things to follow up on (like inktober).
I tried my hand at the color wheel and came up with the following palletes. I'd like to hear which one people like more and any suggestions anyone might have.
It's a very fun exercice to understand the relationships between colors.
Inktober
After seeing everyone's preparations for inktober, I figured I should at least have some sort of plan. In the spirit of refining a skill, I wanted to elaborte on something that's pretty important for manga.
Character design. Combines well with Black and White inks when thinking about manga and drawing characters is something I feel comfortable with.
There is a LOT of videos and information about character design, so I figured, you know, let's watch and learn from ALL of it.
I did some searches, and compiled 17 videos related to character design (I think that's all of them). Granted It's not a daily thing for me, so this should last me all of Inktober at the very least.
I'll watch them. Be diligent into learning from what it explains, and create an ink piece for each video attempting to apply the lessons learned. Using the oportunity to redesign some characters, expand on some, and, well, we'll see what comes out of it.
Manga
A few more pages I worked on in the last few days!
That's it for now! Thanks for stopping by! Cheers!
