Another update for october pieces! Also, the flu got me. It sucked, but we're not getting over it!
Man, this has really forced me to push myself like I had not done before on digital art. I would do one fo these works every few days, now to work them within one day has been a huge challenge, but one that I've been enjoying a lot!
And I feel I've learned so much as wel from iterating on styles, workflow and what not. It's been tiring, but a good exprience!
some extra sketches and variation for that last one:

Long story, decided to drop from the manga contest schedule for November.
Not a decision taken lightly as you can imagine. When I started the one shot project, it was the only project I had going, and when OCtober came up, I figured it would be tough, but I'd be able to manage. This was true for the most part, and I was able to keep pace for the first week. Unfortunately, I had a wave of work happen. I struggled but STILL managed to hold on barely, even though I was starting to feel the burnout.
Then this last weekend I was notified a second wave of work is incoming, coupled with some health issues (flu + other things), it's proven to be a bit more than I can chew, so I knew I had to reconsider what I had on my plate,
I am REALLY enjoying OCtober, and for now, it's more important to me. So I'll stop the one shot for the moment, which is a bit more stressful due to having a hard deadline, while OCtober is more flexible on me.
It's a shame, but honestly, I don't feel THAT bad about it. I was mostly doing it for the experience, to get out of my comfort zone, experiment a bit more, and to evaluate my work against my peers to learn from how they did things differently (by checking other contestant entries). I can still do all of these, and I'm sure there will be more contests in the future, so it's all good.
And I still intend to finish the one shot, just not for the contest. Still want to use it to experiment with printing, to learn, and maybe I'll shelf it for whenever another contest comes around.
That's all for now! Cheers!
