Hello everybody,

A tiny bit of progress on the perspective assignment.

I didn't invest much time in it because: 1) I woke up late 😅 and 2) I did some more character studies for my wife's book.

The rendering is off, in my opinion, so this is something I definitely need to practice, but other than that I think the exploration turned out ok. This is the second round of exploration, where we are trying out styles, colors, rendering, etc. Just a big brainstorm, really.

What do you think? Any feedback is much appreciated!

Your characters of your wife's book are great!! The only thing that I could say is that the right hand is a little bit strange, but for the rest I love it! Most of all the one with the blue tshirt, awesome job!

I think after finishing the assignment on the 3 point perspective using Marc's lesson as base, I'll try to do another scene on my own (altho not sure if I will be able to hold the anxiety on starting anatomy 😅)

Really great work, mate!
I love your clean lines of your 3pt perspective work, looks really impressive!
Dont worry too much about anatomy. Marc explains it in a really simple and comprehensive way.

Hello friends!

Yesterday and today I got caught up working on my wife's book. Still doing some rounds of exploring the character's style. Would really love your feedback on which versions (following) you think are the best - top or bottom one:

The top one has a "rounder" face with a bit more detail, while the bottom one the face is a bit more straight and more simplified (nose is "simpler", for instance).

Don't mind the render on the top ones, both because they suck and because I didn't had the time to do it for the bottom one 😅

What do you think?

I love all your kids characters I think that I prefer the upper one, he's very cute and maybe it's my favourite so far. The only think maybe is that I would have used more saturated colors, more vibrant.

Today I've focused on making progress in the 3-point perspective assignment:

Feels like I'm in the "last 20%" of the drawing, which is adding the details, but at the same time will take "80% of the time". But anyway, let's keep going

i prefer the boy with the rounder face. maybe rosey/dirty his nose up a bit? I was asked to do a childrens book and seeing your designs at least gives me some inspiration to not be so scared to tackle the project

Hello everyone,

One more character breakdown study. Original art by @cosmicspectrum (Yana/Cos).

This one I actually went completely loose (and a bit crazy) on the shading, just to explore and try things out. The result is a bit weird but I had sooooooo much fun of doing this to experiment. No pressure, no goal of "THIS NEEDS TO BE A MASTERPIECE". Just trying and playing. I really recommend the experience.

Hello everyone!

While the perspective assignment is still in progress, I tackle these character breakdown studies in between to try and improve those skills.

Today's pose was very challenging for me. This is another take on the same character in the previous post - Original art by Hong Soonsang.

The character was all twisted in his body so it was very hard to understand, anatomy wise, where everything would land correctly.

My anatomy skills are pretty rusty (I don't remember most stuff that I've studied in the past) and didn't get there yet on ArtSchool, so I think that got in the way a bit.

If anyone is up for a challenge, here's the original piece:

Would love to see how people would break this down and find the right spots to lay down the muscles, etc.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!

Good Lord. I'm not even kidding, I think I spent some good 5h to 7h on this, I think? Pretty much working 1h every other day for 2 weeks (but some weird splits every now and then).

But it is here!
Pretty much following what Marc did on his video. If I finish the rest of the term before the end of July, I'll probably go back to this and do a version of a 3-point perspective of my own.

What do you think?
