@Julia_J
Thanks, I think I used that room again for a lighting exercise on a later term, I'll try to post it later. And yeah I see what you mean with the mattress, could be that it's simply a bit more sunken on that part, old mattress x.x
@HANDRO
hugh I mostly agree with you, but lately I question if I have actually made any progress with figure and anatomy.
Reaching Term 5 was really exciting since character design is my focus, so I went all out hoping to make something good for my portfolio. Looking back on it I'm still pretty satisfied with it, it's just frustraiting that so much work goes into something that is ultimately so barebones.
I wish I could do these so much more easily and faster, but the process itself is still a struggle, not just the designing, specially the technical side of rendering or really just fast sketching to a decent finish without having to go all out. Oh well, learning slowly is still learning.
Obviously I learned a lot from this and got some feedback from Marc on this one, started out with greyscale and then added color.
You said it all: "Slow learning is still (good) learning".
I know it's a cliche, but I feel it is particularly true with art: the journey is better than the destination. Those moments where you can see you've evolved are always better than the final result in and of itself. Take your time
The explorations here are super cool, by the way
On Term 6 I wanted to work on more character stuff for my portfolio so I made this. The class on Mech design is one of the few things I haven't really done an assignment on, I just really want to focus on the human figure and more organic forms for now.
Anyways Marc helped me with this one and I think it turned out pretty well overall. Hopefully I can make these faster as I improve.
Oh and this term also had a lighting exercise so I went back to this room from term 1 and lit it up.
@Julia_J thank you :9
I went back to Term 5 to work on this project with creatures in mind and Marc's class on creature design. I also wanted to try out a particular style with the characters. Overall it's not a very good project, it's a mess really, but a decent learning experience I suppose.
Also thought me or reminded me that I really need to stop trying to "wing it" with big projects, I should've spent more time on the planning and designing of the creatures, because they came out really bland and boring.
Hey @emrepoart your style is very distinct and your rendering is very well done. while you may think it could use work I think you have a very good foundation here. looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks @HANDRO, not sure about style though, for that last project I was imitating the style of Justine Thibault that I liked.
Ever since I finished these projects on Terms 5 and 6 I haven't continued with ArtSchool at all since what comes next is the big final project and I don't feel ready to tackle that, because I would really love to come up with something good, althought overthinking it is not good in the long run.
Anways, in the mean time I have participated in all kinds of challenges and these are some pieces I have done and received feedback from Marc.
This was for Art War 5, I have yet to correct it based on Marc's feedback to add it to my portfolio.From this point on I'll keep updating with new stuff I come up with.
