Hi, everybody!
This is my first time participating in the art challenge. I was so excited to see that this challenge is about characters, which is what I love working on the most! Therefore, thank you so much for this opportunity!
My character is a half high elf and half human. Her name is Fiora. She is a witch who has the power of telekinesis. Additionally, she can sense evil and create a force field.
Backstory
Fiora was born in a loving family. However, her parents chose a life without magic and they weren't happy with their daughter;s passion for it. This was due to Fiora's grandfather, Malcolm, who couldn't control his powers and went insane. Fiora's family has forbidden the use of magic ever since. Afterwards, they moved from the city to a small village far away, where no one used magic or knew of their family's past. Fiora was stubborn and still found ways to practice magic nevertheless. She didn't like seeing her friends and family die of war and illness, and not being able to do much about it. Human powers can only do so much, while magic is limitless as to what it can create. Plus, Fiora wanted to prove to her parents that the past doesn't have to dictate the future.
When she grew up, she had to leave her parents and pursue her dreams of becoming a mage warrior. So she moved back to the city, graduated from the Arcane University, and became an owner of a small magic shop where she sells spell books and self crafted potions.
Now as The Darkness approaches, this is Fiora's greatest chance of restoring her family's legacy and becoming a mage warrior/hero that she always wanted to be!
Here are my references as well as character design sketches. I really like the second one, but i think i will go with the third one. In the forth one I tried to see if the rounded sleeves from a second design would work better in terms of making her look even more kind-heartened type of character. Any thoughts/suggestions would be highly appreciated!
Good luck everyone, and have fun!

Nice backstory/concept! I like the details in your clothing. 2 looks more tribal like your references and 3 has a stronger silhouette to me. Looking forward to see where you go with this

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback!

Action poses/silhouettes explorations. I will possibly add one more soon. Today I will need to pick the best one(s) to use for the front and back turnarounds drawing views. Can't wait to refine my design!

Thank you! I like them the most as well!

Here are the color variations. I really like the 1st, the third, and the 5th one. Any suggestions on which you think I should pick will be appreciated!

Rough thumbnails of the final illustration. I like the second, the forth, and the fifth one the most. I think I will, however, go with the second one as it seems to be the most dynamic thumbnail of all. Plus, it represents the character best.
