I have my finished pictures of the Marvel Hero Brother Voodoo. I couldn't decide on the background though:
I like the brown background, but the red one looks better to me.

Red one definetly fits the character better and in general I find it more interesting. Feels more colorful.

noice! imo the red bg is better cus the purple mashes too much with the glow around the hands and skull/snakes

This is from Term 1 week 4:
Study (copy) 5 characters from professional artists/shows/games you like (lineart
only) I have 4 so far. I've tried darkening my pencils, but I don't think it scans well.

Here's a sketch of Mei Met from Jujitsu Kaisen. I just realized I forgot to draw her axe.
The artist's name is Gege Akutami.

The reference:

This is a study from Neyterix. It's her and her family on a D& D campaign. I had to squeeze the characters together for space.

This next one is a study from WLOP of the character Mumei. I think she's the character from Kabanari Of The Iron Fortress

1 Minute gesture drawings.

A work in progress of my Junji Ito study. I'm just inking over my sketch. Digital inking seems more difficult than traditional inking for me, but I want to practice it. Maybe it's not the best idea to copy the artist known for very detailed drawings.

Good exercices man! I don't think it's a bad idea to chose an artist like that. It could certainly be a challenge to try to get close to it, but in the end the point is to practice and learn from the original author, as long as that is met, it's all good.

it was an interesting practice.

I've finished my Junji Ito study. It was surprisingly challenging but pretty fun. I added a gray background to match the reference. I was pretty close to the reference.

Here's the reference. I just realized I colored the eyes wrong.

I did some gesture drawings and worked on them a little more. then I did a very quick sketch ideas.

I finished my study of the artist Neyterix. I shaded the characters a little to help separate the characters. It's still a bit of a challenge. I did the line work over my sketch and it looked good. But when I added a white background, it wasn't that good. So I had to thicken the lines. It was an interesting practice. It's still a long way to go for digital line art and inking.

I did a minor edit on the eyes to match the reference.

Nice studies man! The Junjito one is especially creepy (as it should)

As manner of feedback, I'd recommend to pay closer attention to the line weight use there. For example, in the Nayirix reference you can see the gir's hair and the character on the back have a distinctly finer oultine than the main character in the front, especially his Axe. And even with just lineart you should be able to, for example, have the character in the back have less weight overall. Otherwise the complexity make it hard to appreciate the layers of distance.

Here's a rough example using your same piece, just adjusting some outlines and tones a bit

Thank you @daceronine. Weirdly enough she's probably the least creepest thing I saw in the art book.

For example, in the Nayirix reference you can see the girl's hair and the character on the back have a distinctly finer outline than the main character in the front, especially his Axe.

So less weight on the background character with the sword and a finer darker outline of the character in front and her axe. Also, with a finer outline on the girl on the left's hair, I can darken the line art a little more and maybe have thinner lines on her red hair.

I did a study of the artist Reiq. He made ad fan art of Karlach from Baldur's Gate 3. It was challenging to get the anatomy and pose right

I've been watching Delicious in Dungeon lately, and I like the series.
Recently, I've seen Falin in her new form, and I wanted to draw it. I wondered what would be the drawbacks of saving Falin and now I see it.
I haven't drawn animals in a while, so this was pretty fun to do.
