Alright, here it is. Not my best work or anything...but I did used what I learned, and that was the point. It's also very important to draw things like these just to see how much you have improved AND most importantly, to identify what are things you need to focus on when it comes to learning.

Looks awesome! I've always been a sucker for pieces that are comprised of neutrals with a splash of color, always works to draw me in. I also enjoy the patterns that you used and the gradient in the background. Helps to balance and add some mood to the piece. Nice work, keep it up!

Hopping into term 2, these are a few of my daily volumes practice. I also want to practice some complex box shapes with extrusions and all that, since at the moment that has been pretty hard to do.

Hmm its been a while since term 1 and 2 but i could have sworn its not an ellipse on the side but still a perfect circle (and square if we are looking at the square)...

you can definitely draw a head starting with a perfect circle of course. that how the loomis method works anyways. I'm just saying that if you are drawing from references, you are gonna notice how the head (the skull) isn't actually a perfect circle.

from my experience (which isnt much lol) I feel like Im more accurate when I draw the head as a slighly streched circle, instead of an actual perfect circle.

the actual shape of the head can variate depending on the character design too, so is not even a rule or anything. Just a tip for myself i guess

Yeah! I got pretty good at drawing that specific angle, but with any other complicated angle my brain dies

I'm going to leave this monstrosity of a portrait here, try again (this same reference) at the end of the month and see how much I have improved. Hopefully is a lot better than this...

not bad!

imo i think:
- the chin is ever so slightly too wide
- the eyebrows are a little low
- her left, (our right) eye is a bit small compared to the reference
- both eyes are a bit wider than the reference

Oh yeah, I aprecciate that! I'm well aware of the mistakes, hence me calling this a horror of an attempt. It's mostly observation, the tilt of the head, the correct position of the eyes etc.

I'll try this same portrait in a month to see if I improved.

Love the way you shaded your forms, the simplicity of it makes it look so clean. Not too mention the energy that you created with your forms, which is really nice. I like the observation with the heads, It's something that seems to get glossed over a lot. Nothing wrong with drawing it as a perfect circle by any means, but its good to distinguish the observational reality too.

Really great work, your portrait studies are looking great! I'm excited to see how much you grow in a month, as you're current studies are looking good, can't imagine how much better you'll be by then! Keep up the awesome work!

Drawing the head in front-view has been fairly easier to understand, but from any other angle I still have some trouble drawing the different parts of the face.

Nothing to do but to keep practicing
