And to finish, a Self portrait attempt. It's hard and it's weird to look at yourself. I really want to keep trying in the future.
I'm also gonna take a little brake form drawing since I've been doing other pixel art commisions and stuff, and also my hand hurts.
You are indeed VERY ready to face term 3.These studies look awesome.
Thanks a lot! I aprecciate that! same goes for you, I really love your perspective drawings too
these studies look amazing
Congratulations on finishing term 2The assignments look pretty good. The 4-point perspective room looks amazing. And I like your self-portrait.
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you guys are enjoying my journey. Honestly without your comments I would not be as motivated.
First day on term 3 - drawing while I watch marc's video about this. It's pretty basic but doing the exercices helps to understand even more.
I also noticed how one of the assigments in the weekly schedule was drawing heads from reference, The one thing I've been doing in the past months haha.. I guess I didn't waste that time. This one is not 100% accurate, but looks kinda similar. I noticed I don't really know how to draw different lips, they are all like...big and jucy. I might need to work on that. The tild of the head is a little off too.
And I also spend some more time doing Gesture drawings and constructing bodies from observation, since I'm really gonna need those skills now.
That's it for today
Very nice! I love the construction on that statue.
I know that my first attempts are always pretty bad, but I must admit I have officially no idea of what I'm doing. This is completly new for me and I'm probably gonna struggle for a while before I can get comfortable with this process of drawings. I think Marc's process of drawing this part is kinda hard. Would it be valid to find my own method for this same exercise?
Also, I'm having a hard time finding good references for this and I don't want to spend too much time on pinterest. Does any of you have or know a good references for this exercise? your help would be super aprecciated!
Alright I did something a little different this time, with a better reference too. The results are a bit better but I don't feel like I'm learning anything yet.
I think you drapery studies look good, but I get the frustration with not learning anything. I think there might be some good references on deviantart, and if you don't mind paying for packs, I saw some good looking references on ArtStation. I'm mostly working with bought packs at this point, because pinterest distracts me and there is just so much low quality stuff on there ^^,,Hope you're finding your flow with the current studies! Your journey is super inspiring to see ❤
Thank you Natalie! and great idea, I also spend too much time on pinterest so I might buy some packs from artstation, I have my eye on some and they are kinda cheap anyways.
Little something I did because I can't sleep. ignore the lips.
I never looked at it that way, never thought about buying them even, finding good references is a nightmare... you indirectly convinced me to buy some now
Not at my best lately. I haven't practice or draw much either, so I don't have a lot to share, other than me struggling to make my brain work and make art. I have a couple of studies here, nothing impressive really.
When it comes to enviroments...I don't even know what to think. I find it hard to know how to draw all the things, even though I know all about line weight and how it changes with the distance. I feel like the quality of the lines I make suck, both for enviroments and anatomy or portraits. It's like my brain and my hands are not connected and that has made it hard to learn and feel motivated, I just end up feeling dumb.
I don't know how to fix this problem other than just...keep drawing, keep trying, keep studying. what else is there.
I made this one today. It's very sketchy but it looks good. This one was quick, I will try again later.
I wouldn't sweat it dude. Your line quality is pretty great as it is.The cool thing is you don't have to do separate studies to improve it though, since everything you draw has lines haha. I think as long as you are aware of how you want to use them the dexterity and control will come with time.I like to replicate things I cool things from other artists in my own studies. Who are some artists that have good line quality you would like to be able to do? Try to implement their rendering style in your work. If you do this enough, you will have a big bag of tricks you can pull from.Awesome studies by the way! The fabric studies remind me of moderndayjames's videos.
thank you! I really appreciate it. I was actually planning on doing that, dedicate myself to study other artists. But I'm probably gonna focus on the anatomy and clothing for this month. And yeah! moderndayjames is a massive inspiration! Its probably what I aim to be the most, for now.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I really like your line art!the perspective one looks great!
LOVE how you did the folds on the clothes and your shading!
Your lineart looks really good! I like how it looks on foldsEnvironment looks great!
If you stare to much at your art you will see only flaws even if the piece itself is good.
I don't know man, your stuff look pretty impressive to my eyes. Only thing to note is that the perspective on the environment studie it's a bit different from the reference, witch isn't a problem really.Making portraits look like the reference is one of the things that i'm struggling with right now so i feel you, but all in all, good job in those.
