Ah yes... i used to feel that a good amount..
And this was usually the culprit, i'm glad you realized that earlier than i did but yes when that happens i usually have to think about.. what do i want to draw? what do I, as a creator, want to see? what am i excited to see? what keeps me excited about art? it usually is my characters so i work of of that for example or if i end up having a setting in mind then i work off that.. or if u have no ideas whatsoever, u can try drawing boxes or spheres in perspective for good practice, then perhaps something will click. when i was in high school i had a thing going where on every 3D surface i draw (cubes, letters in 3D), i'd draw tiny stick figures on it just for fun lol. maybe you can come up with something that's literally pure relaxing fun for yourself.
ah yes me too. thats the reason why i got off IG for a while. the artists i follow are mostly younger than me.. already have their own comics, selling their own merch.. i'd feel like i wouldnt be able to catch up to them esp since they're younger than me.. tho im only 25 so im not THAT old either... but these artists r like.. 20 and they come from a relatively wealthy family from the looks of it so they dont have a full time job they do art for fun full time.. but i gotta work full time and work on art after.. but the mindset that kinda got me off of that was:
stop looking at them!! LOL stop looking at things that make you feel like you are behind, at least for a little bit. i took a social media break for like a few months and now no longer obsess over posting on ig. only when i have something that i make that i really like do i post it there, i spend most of my time on this forum because everyone is growing together
Compare your old self to your new self noticed when i look at my old art vs the art i can do now im much happier cus im like oooh i can do this now! wouldnt have dreamed of being able to do this x years ago .
That aside I REALLY like your buildings.. not saying that just to cheer you up but i really do! I love the little swirly designs on your buildings, the parts that sink in idk what its called.. but the part where it looks like a cylinder took a bite out of the building... there is a word in 3D modeling that starts with a D but i cant remember it atm... but anyways this thing right here is my fav
and WOW that gate looks majestic!! really like the designs on there, that must have taken a long time! your buildings i think are better than mine XD
ooh good catch tho thats a pretty easy fix, just move one of the building pieces up or down a about 5 px and it should no longer look like a tangent personally if i were doing it i'd move the one on the right down about 5 pixels since that looks easier to move
