Hello to all who see this! I just joined this forum a few days ago and just now was able to write here. I'm still scouting landmarks in this new campus so I get lost less. A little about me is outside of the standard drawing in elementary school and being a part of the Toonami/DBZ generation in junior high and high school I haven't drawn outside of those times, due to my inconsistent and hectic schedule. I always loved art, but never thought I could obtain anything from it, considering where my skills were at those times. But I dared to challenge the doubt in beginning of July...all thanks to a Jay-Z album... I've been consistent ever since and then I got my first digital art book. Less than 100 pages and I started contemplating changing my career field. It was too hard to think about engineering when my thoughts about art became such a distraction. I'm quite aware I'm small change, but I hope to change that in time.

Hi everybody! I am late to the game on getting on the forum for artschool but I am looking forward to diving in and getting back to what I love to do. My name is Paul and I am 35, I graduated from UAT about 3 months ago and felt like I needed more help and to get back to the basics. Before attending college I had a long LONG span of time where I had quit drawing (10 years), I had been drawing since I was a kid... way before anything digital was around so going in deeper with the digital side is going to be exciting. I am just getting started with the first term so I look forward to talking with everyone and eventually showing what I create.

Hi I'll admit I only joined the forum for the ARTWARS contest. not having a following I guess my entry has kinda been ignored. So let me introduce myself. even if its after the fact.

I'm a former comic book artist. mostly did colors for smaller companies. After the Navy I thought I'd go back to school. study 3D animation for film and games. But I find myself enjoying the preproduction stuff more then the 3d stuff. storyboards character designs, vis dev. so thats how I found this site. working on my 2D stuff on my own while learning all the 3d and technical stuff at school.

I'll try to be more active in the future. it's hard with school and taking online courses and life and kids.

Having a wonderfully supportive family and being able to do something productive from my couch really helps. I certainly have my down days, but I prefer to not dwell on the negatives as much as possible. Doing so would only make my life miserable and I choose to not allow that to happen. Finding joy in the little things even something as small as my daughter singing in the shower is what helps me stay positive.

Hi there,

my name is Janine, I'm 19 y/o and from Germany (so please excuse my bad grammar). I've been drawing ever since I was little and it has definitely always been a big part of my life. The fact that I love to play videogames has influenced my drawing style a lot. I mostly draw fanart of my favourite characters since I find that the most fun. Lets just say that I'm really passionate about gaming and art, which is why its my dream to become a concept/3D artist at a big game company (blizzard for example.) I know that I have to work hard for that dream, but believe me when I say that I'm trying my very best.
The reason why I joined this forum is because I want to improve my art. I've felt really down as of late because I feel like my art should be better, considering I have been drawing digitally for about 9 years now. I hope I'll be able to exchange tips and critiques with other artists so that I can improve and maybe help others.

For those who are wondering: I like to play WoW and SC2 (most wonderful game ever created, sadly I'm stuck in Plat/Diamond). I'm also a fan of the Fire Emblem series and Nintendo Games in general (Pokemon/Zelda/Mario/...). I play LoL from time to time, but definitely not as much as the other games I've mentioned. When it comes to music I'm pretty much down for everything (besides german folk music, screaming and ridiculous electro stuff which will eventually let your brain explode) cough

I... think that's all there is to say. Oh, maybe one more thing: I'm working fulltime as financial accounting manager (not as important as it sounds really) for a year, because I want to save money for an art school which I'll be attending in October 2019. (Counting the days alreadyyy..) Trying to make some additional money by doing commissions (nobody knows about me + my art is probably not good enough yet so I don't know about that.)

AH WELL.
'twas nice introducing myself, I'm looking forward to a good time. ^_^
