Shape exploration in characters is amazing and I'm adoring the designs! It's inspiring that you're also diving into caricatures to understand form manipulations.
The archetype design is really interesting.
The first one conveys fearless to me (primarily first since she feels like a hardy and stubborn character). I agree with the trapezodial design choice of her pose since it really looks like she's able to stand her ground.
I'm wondering if you can put some bruises, bandages, and even damaged equipment to convey that even though things went wrong. She's willing to push through. Or maybe, holding dearly onto a trinket throughout her journey?
The third is nearing towards hopeful because she's incredibly busy and in a rush. She is looking for something and is willing to chase after it for that next big scoop. But, I'm wondering if her looking towards the horizon with gleaming eyes and excited smile alongside a fistful of maps and tools would convey hopeful better.
The fifth is more close to confident in her work but stays more within the realm of lax. She's able to negotiate that PTO without a hitch, she did her homework about her next travels, booked the best hotel she can manage, and maybe even won a few bets and hangs alongside a reliable party.
The second one mainly conveys that she's a day dreamer and a sweet summer child.
The fourth looks like she's just waiting and wondering where the train might be when she was an hour late after not adjusting her clock for daylight savings.
The sixth looks cute and dainty.
Apologies for the long post!
Also, I have never been able to understand shapes and was wondering if you'd have any advice on that.
