Really cool! I really like her design and the way you the presentation showing her different attacks is also pretty nice.

And great work on that acrylic painting. I never did something as large as that... and I'm not sure if I could XD

Hey guys I'm currently working on my portfolio to go to art school. I'm applying to three different ones where you don't have to pay anything, therefore you go there for free, but to be accepted you have to be fairly good at what you do ... I'm currently working on the one school that focuses more on animation rather than video games, therefore I'm trying to create an "iconic" character. The idea is to create a knight, the setting is semi-futuristic (like final fantasy typish i guess.) Here are some iterations on the "armor" design:

Looking pretty good so far :).

I don't know if design is that important (since you're focusing more on animation) but in games like final fantasy and kingdom hearts you will notice a lot of little accecories and details on every character's clothing.
So what you could do is find some refrance and add some more details yourself if that's something you're interested in.

As for the poses and anatomy everything is looking pretty good. Get some referance for the hands and you're gold :).

@Firathion Thank you so much, I really don't know what I should do for the animation course, I have no experience with animation. I wanted to have a character that I can render out very neatly to show off my skill in that field, but I will have to go simpler if i want to really animate something. I was thinking of a transformation scene maybe? but again, i have zero skill and it will take ages to figure out how to animate ... again, I really want to go to another school but I do need some alternatives if I don't get accepted there. I'll try to figure smthn out.

So here's some further progress, this is what I ended up with. I'll add more details along the way, du to my process being a bit messy, once I render some things out i'll get a better picture of everything. But please give some critiques if you have some thoughts on this!

Sooo I'd love to get some feedback on this one, I've been working on it for quiet some time now I feel cratively exhausted at the moment and I'm so sick so things go slooooooow

Oh btw, for those who have the time, how do you think did she get her scar and what character archetype is she? (just want to know if the design is effective)

So ... I've been dead for a while now. I don't have a lot of time :_; i'm preparing for my final exams and I had to make my application for the CGL for their Digital Games Bachelor Program which is without monthly fees so one of my only possibilities to study something like this. There are two more schools like these that I want to apply for but for those I have some more time.

I really like that last one! I love the limited use of colors and I feel it shows that you've improved so much. I'd definitely like to see you finish the more unfinished parts
