I felt like I needed to revise how to draw heads so I watched some of the videos Marc has on YT.

Finished a character bust.

Downloaded new brushes and wanted to try them out. So I drew few pictures from reference with some of them. ( link for the brushes: https://yuhkidemers.gumroad.com/l/wzmpbn )

Next I am going to finish the rest of the 3D assignments aaand hopefully finish term 3 this month.

This week's practice:

Doing gestures after a longer break always feels so awkward. <(￣ ﹌ ￣)>I forced myself to do the clothing exercise in limited time. Otherwise, I could spend hours trying to guess the perfect fold, and that is not helpful at all.

Barrel assignment :

I'll be honest. Sculpting really isn't my cup of tea, but it was nice to get familiar with the process.

Oy, that's a lot of gestures. I know what yu mean, it's easy to get lost trying to get the structure, shadows or form right.

That's a nice lookin barrel.

This week's practice :

This exercise is quite nice. I understand the logic behind the simplified skeleton + muscles a bit better now.

I was messing around in Blender last week. Now I have a bunch of half-finished models and other stuff lying around. I liked making simple/low poly things the most out of all the things I tried. Here is a landscape from a tutorial :

Then I stumbled upon this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT-07G6lbtA&t=3s Since I wasn't very thrilled about the sculpting assignment, I decided I will try making a low poly model of the lizard guy I drew a while back instead. I only started, so I don't have much to show yet:

Last assignments from term 3:
Low poly 3D model. I still need to paint him, but that can wait some time. (ーー; )

5 Heads from imagination. I used a different brush for each one to see which one was the most comfortable.

Amazing stuff as usual! you make it all look so easy! There's a certain grace to those faces, lineart and folds that's hard to explain. Shading even for just those color exercices looks great.

In turn that makes you look good as a result!

It's interesting to get to know what people here look like by the end of term 3. It's a good exercice that Marc included.

All Term 4 exercices are on point too. All well done and pleasant to look at.

Term 4 Anatomy 3 upper.

I kept getting confused with the forearm muscles, so I did few more studies. I still get confused, but it is a bit better now. (×_×)⌒☆

Oy this is great! The studies are really good, a very nice refresher for us and those resources are bound to be really helpful!

You make all those look so easy!

I guess the Erector spinaen might be a bit too wide here..? can't really tell

and it might be a bit smallish here

But it feels like nitpicking. This is a great job all around. You even analyzed the bones to degree I didn't even bother to look into.

I particularly liked the stylized studies.

Thank you for pointing that out. Looking at it again, it does feel weird. They probably should be covered more in the first one. I am not sure. I am getting lost in all the bumps Here are the original pictures:

oh wow, yea, I can see how the bulges can make all that confusing.

For the one on the left I think it's barely a few muscles up, but hard to tell.

For the one on the right, he clearly has a very buff erector spinae, and the erector does go all the way from bottom up, so I think what's happening there is that it's simply bulging under the Latissiums dorsi, even if it IS covered by the latissiums.

It goes something like this:

I mean, that was rushed, but I think the idea is there.
