I've finished the mouth anatomy class.
They're looking quite wonky in my opinion.
I think the reason might be that my head proportions are a bit off.

I'll still do my eye proportions on this drawing for the time being than I'll try and redraw all of it with more accurate facial proportions.

Its been a while since I last did some gesture drawings. I've been feeling a bit demotivated and burnt out the last few day and I'm just trying to take it day by day.

Recently I've been playing around in Blender to get more familiar with the software.
I'm currently just focusing on the animation part for the time being and then I'll branch out to more things like 3D sculpting, special effects etc.

Here's a peak on what I've made so far.
It took me about 6 hours just to make a 3 second animations. 👀

noice thats not bad considering ur using 3d. i forgot how long my 3d animations took back when i made them a few yrs ago

Started this drawing about 2 or 3 days ago, I'm playing around with airbrush and a bit of blending to shade and its pretty fun.

Another update!
I'll probably only be able to finish this piece sometime next week.
Its quite a learning curve trying to make something so realistic, but I kinda enjoy it ngl.
I also need to redo the hair, but I need to seriously watch some video's on how to do that first haha.

I'll have to come back to this piece when I have a better understanding of how to render hair, but I'm really happy with how far I was able to come with this piece.
Let me know if there is any other feedback you guys might have or any suggestions on where I can watch some hair render tutorials.

I decided to scrap the hair entirely but I wanted to finish the render by adding the colors from the reference photo.
Hopefully I can render hair in the not so distant future :

I decided to do a very stylized portrait drawing.

I don't know why but every time I do a render study I tend to like my base sketch a lot more then the final render... Maybe it just means that I'm not that happy with my rendering at this stage?

I'm really liking the simplification of this stylized method and I'm hoping to add some of the elements to my future art style!

I'm the same, I usually prefer my base sketch. I think it means we need to work on our skills in adding volume to the drawing (lighting work and shading as a result)

I totally feel you on the rendering phase. I think it's worth experimenting with different rendering methods. For example, in stead of a soft brush with very diffuse gradients, try making gradients with hard brushes or brushes with some texture to add a different feel to it.

I'll definitely try out more rendering techniques and see how its turns out!

Finally started with Term 2 perspective classes.
I am not the biggest fan of perspective drawings but I guess I have no choice but to master it XD
I'm currently busy with the Castle Gate drawing so we'll see how that turns out.
I also still need to do a self portrait some time so I'll see if I can prepare some references.

Hi guys, I hope you all are doing well!
I'm gonna be honest, I'm not doing to great.

I have a lot of self-doubt about what I want to do with my life, even tough I'm just 21 years old, imagine.

I just hate that as soon as we finish with school/college we have to instantly know what to do with our life and just walk into a job and be there for the rest of our lives.
I really don't like how the world works lol.

Anyways sorry for the short rant.

I got frustrated with my perspective drawings and decided to tackle a new portrait and tried to be genius by rendering in color while my reference is B&W - _-
I did two takes, 1 where it was a render and another where it was an art style/line art study of Marc Brunet's work.

I think I'll be focusing on some 3D classes in Blender for a bit since I'm really interested in it and I'll also be sharing my process with it here even though it might not be relative to the ART School program.

I wish everyone good luck on their endeavours!

I dude! I'm sorry to hear that you are not doing well! First of all, yeah, a lot of your 20's are gonna be about figuring out the answer to that question, but dont worry about the number, your age and the "I'm supposed to be" bs
I'm 25 and I have been there, still there kinda. I know those fears, but I also know that in some of them I was completly wrong. You are definitely not gonna be stuck in a job forever if you dont want to, and you DEFINITELY are not gonna know what to do in your life as soon as you are out of school.
For know, just try to be patient, focus on growth, and what direction you wanna go in life.

I wish I had more wisdom words, but I'm on the same boat, theres a lot of people in this boat too, of all ages lol

Same lol we work like 5 days a week out of 7 - thats like 70% of the week.. repeat every month, year, etc thats like 70% of your life spent working and only 30% doing what you really love just so u can survive.. not a fan of how it works either.. RIP.. but it is what it is gotta make the most of the 30% of time i have left... (i waste too much time complaining XD)

Inkpendude is right tho (and eyy we're the same age @Inkpendude lol), there are a lot of different paths to take in life so if you need a job to survive, do that and then slowly figure out what to do after things are more stable
