I plan on doing an in-depth study of a few artists this year. I'll be doing two months for each artist where I do a full master copy for one month and an original piece the next.
This month I'm focusing on Mary Blair. If you're a fan of Disney you may know her.

One thing I learned last year was how to understand shape language and make a style guide. I drew out a few notable shapes and made color palettes based on her work to start off.

Aaand we're finished.

I wanted it to be loose and defined at the same time so I played with hard and soft edges. Usually I try to be as realistic as possible but I'm working on being more stylistic and experimenting. Let me know what you think!

I love how everything looks and feels soft yet it also feels very defined and confident. I especially like how you did the hair for the clown on the right where it still reads as what it's supposed to be but you don't have to put too much detail into it great job overall

Your improvement in digital painting is amazing, but I also have to say that your traditional studies are STUNNING! Those hands and feet look like they are from an anatomy book

I did a couple of treasure chest concepts after watching the design video from term 8. I feel like the top square one had some potential but I didn't know where to take it. let me know if you have any ideas.
I really like the second one though so I'm going to render it for a full illustration.

I decided to take what I learned from the design video and apply it to dress designs for an illustration I'm doing this weekend. The theme is vampire masquerade OC and I'm so excited about it
Here are some early drawings I did of my OC back in High School. Tablets weren't as popular as they are now so I stuck with pencils and watercolor. Times have changed lol.
