Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. Moving just kinda took up all my time for the last couple of months, glad that I'm settled in my new place and can get back into the habit of posting regularly (hopefully).

I was able to finish this commission and I'm happy with how it came out.

The other thing I've been working on is learning Clip Studio Paint. It's so much easier on my old computer not to mention being able to run it on my tablet with no problems. Here are a few sketches I've done while learning CS

Progress on my comic has been slow for the last couple of months but I've done some work on it. Heres a drawing of one of the bad guys. Those tentacles were time-consuming to draw but kind fun and I like how they turned out.

So I colored Li (the tentacle guy) and drew and colored his partner Vi, these are temporary names (probably).

Artie has remained mostly the same over the last couple of months but I made some tweaks to her outfit, just felt like the last one was a bit too generic looking.

Finished the drawing of Artie, time to move on to some colors.

Slight redesign of Quista. The story has changed a bit in the last couple of months so I'm reworking the characters a bit to better match the current story. Hopefully, this is the last time I do this

The first sequence in the new draft is a plane crash so I tried sketching out how I wanted the plane to look. Haven't drawn many planes so I spent a good chunk of time figuring this out.

Some colors for Artie, went with gold and blue to give her a very heroic look.

Holidays and health stuff got in the way of me posting or doing much in the way of art for the last couple months but now that the holidays are over and I'm on the mend it's back to it.

Finally finished the other two villains from my comic and came up with names that are more than just place holders.

Kolem the stoic strong man. Forced into service by Quista he isn't enthusiastic about what he has to do but is resigned to his lot in (un)life.

Raina is very much the opposite of Kolem. A gleeful killer who uses her magically controlled stone fists to do as much damage as possible. Her death only made her violent tendacies worse.

My main charachter redesign. This should be the last redesign.

Don't draw a lot of planes but this was fun to do so I might have to draw them more often.

Just getting some practice at drawing all of my characters. One thing I've noticed in comics is that a lot of artists only have a handful of faces that they use for all characters and I'm trying not to do that. I need to keep pushing that further, so many of my early influences (Mike Turner, David Finch, Marc Silvestri) all did that so it's still something that I'm struggling with

Here're the rough lines for the first chapter of my comic. Gonna clean this up and color it.

I got a commission to draw someones Elder Scroll Online character ridding a stuffed minotaur head.

Been doing some commissions lately so I haven't had a lot of free time to work on my own comic but I've been really happy with how they've turned out. This one, in particular, I'm really pleased with. The War Witch. A character for a tabletop game, I don't know which one but the character description was pretty cool

Wow time kind of got away from me and I realized that I hadn't posted anything for a while so here are a few things that I've been working on

Commisison of a moon elf for someones D&D game. Really happy with how this turned out.

Another D&D commission this one of a warforged. I'm still a bit new to D&D but I guess that its a fantasy robot.

I've decided to go for a more painted look for my comic. I read some really cool comics that pulled this off really well and since I want to get better at painting it seemed like a great way to kill two birds with one stone.

Some linework for my comic. Keeping each element a separate color keeps me from getting off track. It feels a little weird but I end up getting a lot more done. After I get done with the lines I throw in some very basic tone. Then I'll go over it and refine everything over the line layer. Still trying to work out how I want to do this. My goal is to get it to look something like the comic Carbon Grey only in black and white.

For some reason, I keep getting Commissions to draw mech suits or robots despite my portfolio having very little of that. I'm getting to enjoy it even if it's still outside my comfort zone. These are for a set of cards and there all based different factions in Warhammer 40K, something I know very little about but at the rate these commissions keep coming in I'll be an expert by the end of the year.

More progress on the commissions. I realized at this point that I hadn't taken the border of the cards into consideration so I'll have to adjust for the final cards.

Still need to do a final pass on this but I like the way this is looking so far

A test comic for a project that ended up not happening due to the pandemic. The writer was paying for it all out of pocket so he decided to shelve the project for a while. A bummer because I liked working on this short and was looking forward to some of the stuff later in the script.
