sigh. bg still sucks i'm using Devin Elle Kurtz's cityscape brushes - otherwise i dont even know what i'd put on the buildings :3 so at least there's something on the buildings but they still don't look that good. I hope one day enviro drawing will just click for me like may of the other things im learning...
I wanna be able to draw backgrounds like this... https://hdqwalls.com/download/cyberpunk-city-rt-3840x2400.jpg
my buildings are too basic.. tho if i wanted to draw fancy buildings like that i'd probs have to spend like 3-5x the time im spending on the buildings rn
Cityscape brushes in case anyone wants em: https://tamberella.gumroad.com/l/YLfEvh?layout=profile
Wow the example cityscape you show, yeah very detailed. Maybe even too much if you aim at making comics - time wise. But could be a cool project just for the hell of it or maybe a comic cover
Foreshortening and hands look good. Really like what youโre doing with the stairs and platforms.
Now this is probably not important in the grand scheme of a comic background as it might be more work for less payoff, but if you were aiming for full accuracy would the stairs that start changing direction near the top change to two point perspective (would look like they slope down towards the right?
Cheers
Awesome design, mitsuki! Good work!
do you mean these?
or the half hidden ones?
if its the half hidden ones they're meant to go "forward" x axis wise - its not a spiraling staircase. but great question
Yeah though im hoping to get to the point where i can draw enviros like that in like less than 8 hours.
Thanks so much i also felt like i got better at drawing foreshortening with this one
oh btw this is not rly for a comic rn its just a background that i can use to post my first epic song that i made
Yes the ones up top. Good stuff cheers!
I quite like the background I think it is very interesting and colorful. So colorful and constrasting that I think the building in the back right comes out as the focal point of the piece. It has super saturation and super contrast, even more than your characters so I think it is stealing the show from them a bit. You might consider desaturating objects in the background and reducing the contrast to create the effect that they are further away, maybe something like this. Take this all with a grain of salt, Idon't have a ton of exprience here but thought this might help. Really love your piece it turned out really well!
Eyyy thank you @Lockenheim
I did end up desaturating the bg a little bit i think. took out the hover car and hoverboarding person cuz i got lazy lol
Aight. here's the piece i finished today, along with my very first epic music that i made last week
Song:
That's really cool! loving the effects too
cheers
This piece looks amazing! I love the colors (especially the stairs ^.^ ) and the dynamic in the characters ๐
Aight, for the sake of the 3d Assignment, i made a sculpt of a random creature:
I'm not super into 3d so didn't spend too much effort on these lol
I cheated a little and instead of using sculpting i just smashed everything together with 3d primatives instead
I made the futuristic barrel thing from a few posts back:
I used to dabble in 3d animation back in college a few years ago (apparently its been 5 years since college according to when i uploaded those vids XD wtf where did the time go LMAO):
The squirrel video is dope ๐
Wow those look quite complex good stuffI like the creature so far, maybe you shouldnโt discard 3d altogether, it could always prove a useful tool even for a 2D artist
tru, if i have time though i'd do more 3d modeling for bgs instead of sculpting tho. I may use 3d in the future but most likely only for buildings and stuff
clothing a figure:
The colors and forms look very pleasing ๐Maybe the shadows of some folds could be a bit darker :}Also the sweatband is a nice touch to her personality๐
Looking good ๐
Yesterday and Today's Term 4 Armz/Legz muscle study.. - transitioned smoothly from term 3 to term 4.
Arms are harder to draw than legs!
My anatomy notes:
I based my notes off of these (found these on google NOT my art:)
(End of Not my art)
Nice, these studies look fun!
So many different poses and angles It's very helpful to see your notes, and thank you for sharing the other notes too :3
These are some lovely studies, your doing great
