Thank you so much - yes its all good stuff. its just lots of prepwork which = way less free time XD

So Day 2 of utilizing my previously badly managed time!

Nothing major tho (hope u guys dont get bored with the barely noticable changes/updates in my pieces XD)

Worked on this part today:

Was planning on posting them every day when i do a 15 min session.. or guess i could post em all at once at the end.. but got a bit done here in 15 mins and @JimSt ur right im surprised at what i can do in 15 mins. Tho im always concerned that if im perpetually busy i can never finish my artbook like this.. but thinking about it... i'd def make more progress than doing nothing! XD as you said, all progress is good progress. so thank you for inspiring me!

I really like the lighting and the soft shading. The red shaded-in with lower opacity really brings out the skin!

Colored the hair in yesterday's 15 min session... not quite satisfied with the ahoge tho XD. and need to add more highlights but still wip.

@JimSt I did have a bit of a habit relapse where i wasted some time complaining about how i dont have enough time so that attitude change is also a wip still XD but at least im using the 15 mins now vs before where i wouldn't even do that simply cus "i cant finish anything in that time".

All progress is good progress! On regards to posting updates I think you should post as frequently as you want to, in the end it's basically our space/blog, so we should have the liberty to manage it the way we view so. As long as you are comfortable with it, it's all good.

Looks much better once the highlights got added. hope i dont forget to color her necklace tmr XD

Value check looks nice tho the shoulder to the left needs a slight tad more value differences cuz its blending into the hair a bit. Thoughts?

Alis looks like a cute lil cinnamon roll XD she's the most innocent character in my story. Do you get the same vibes?

Seems that the short sessions work for you

I think the shoulder looks good, there is enough difference in color so it doesn't blend that much, maybe a small adjustment

Funnily enough, they used to not work for me XD but now they do so yay!

Lost track of time yesterday doing other life stuff so didnt do my 15 mins but im back at it again today

Finished up Alis and now am starting Cheshire. Sharpened his eyes a bit more to be a lil more kitten like cute cat + cute boi = what more could you ask for

Did a flip test on Alis.. looks pretty decent:

didnt have much time to draw this week so havent been putting in my 15 mins since i last posted...

today i drew for about 35 mins and was rather disappointed cus nothing looked good

All i got done with this which is like...... nothing rippity

this one is cheshire and he is supposed to be a cute boi... i wonder if my perfectionism is blocking me.. cus i do feel a personal... "pressure?" if you will, to make him look perfect and cute... but he doesnt look cute no matter how i draw him today n that rly bothers me XD tried to do the face multiple times and i think i finally have a sketch that kinda works...

the hair was just not working out..... not cute

or maybe today's just not the day XD some days no matter what i draw, it just comes out great! some days....... it just sucks no matter what XD guess ill try again next time i have some time..

or maybe i just need to get rid of the orig sketch cuz its boxing me in.... and just start over with a new pose.

hey ya!
even if 15 minutes doesn't give you a finished drawing, it will give you a better starting point than a blank canvas. So keep all the sketches and use them as springboards for next time. I find it to be helpful when time is short. But yes, if you aren't liking the pose, try a new one too.
Also, I tend to have a good bit of internal dialogue judging everything I'm doing, but a lot of the time that dialogue is not helpful until a piece is well beyond the initial sketch stage. So breathing and silencing the thoughts really help me get past the "jeez, everything i'm drawing is awful" stage to start to get something better with the next layer. There's no reason to get attached to an idea or a drawing because it's probably going to get erased and made better.

Not every drawing needs to be good. Better bad one than none. There are times when I can't look at sketch, I hate it so much and want to drop the idea. Sometimes it is better to move on and try something new it's just a sketch, but sometimes I will give couple more minutes and hey it is a good one. Just have to go pass the doubt stage

I have so many characters I want to draw but I am afraid I will mess them up. I have a specific vision for them but whenever I try it does not feel like them...

I started making designs and thumbnails on paper because I feel less pressure there than digital. In sketchbook I can be messy and it won't look pretty. Some sketches are very ugly but it helps me visualise it better. I even explore more options there. On digital I just want to make everything perfect

If you have a cute boi named Cheshire then I already love him

Ay, yea, sometimes you just don't feel it. No need to force it, but taking a step back and reconsidering the approach also helps.

Personally, if I feel something isn't working, I'll try to look for something or someone who has done something that I think worked. Maybe a reference, a character, or an art piece, and just try to imitate it. By imitating it, I usually end up with something I like a bit more.

A sketchboock as mentioned is also a good idea. Not all works need to be "great" or shared online. Just doodling to experiment or simply for fun helps a lot. The number of postits I've doodled on and thrown away probably stack by the hundreds xD.

I agree with @daceronine I have a piece that I was stuck on too which I eventually I did end up just moving on but its good to get different perspectives and critiques to help push yourself and see it from another lenses and learn from that experience
