Hi everyone, i'm a new student here.

I'm a 28yo junior compositing artist ( well, at the moment most of a post-production assistant ) in a studio in France ( so excuse my english, it's far from perfect ).

I decided to go onto this art journey as i want to learn and step-up my art skills, as they can be usefull for my everyday-job.

The thing is that i'm completely new to the world of drawing, and i had many doubts but decided to go no matter what. So i bought myself a tablet and this course and went on.

For now, it is for me extremely difficult, but i practice everyday, slowly, to get myself into being able draw some straight lines...

Here is my first Pen Control Assignement.

And here is the tenth session :

Here is also the image adjustement exercise :

I am currently going through the nude drawing and things get tricky.
My lines are not straight yet and draw volumes is not as easy as i thought it would be.
I'm not even sure i'm doing the technic well ( how to position my hand, my hand, at what angle etc.)

So, at my level, i'm more looking for corrections than criticisms. I'm looking for any tips that i can get to continue my efforts and get better. I've seen people doing really great things on this forum, there sure is a lot of talent around here, congrats to you all.

Thanks for everyone reading me and/or responding to me

Have a great day !

Hi! Welcome  I am new in this course too hehe. For the figure drawing, for me, the cilinders are a little off.. I don't know if you understand me. Try to continue the figure of the model body a little bit more, look at his siluette. Hope this little draw helps you.

Keep practising!!!

Hi @mrlasagna! First of all, I want to say that I love your nickname hahah I'm italian and I know that the lasagna is one of the best things in the world :joy:
Your first assignements are great, but for the figure studies I think that the images are a little bit too small, I can't really see if there's something wrong or not, maybe the next ones could be a little bit bigger or maybe with different colours for the cilinders.
Bonne soirée :joy:

@mbarrasa16 Thanks for your drawing, i see now that i got the perspective wrong, will continue my practice today for sure !

@chiara.arcidiaco I made the images smaller to post here ( original canvas was 3000x3000 ) but ok i'll make them larger so i can get better feedbacks ! And, yes, lasagnas are one of the best things in the world ! Ahahah

Here is today figure drawing, trying to implement your feedbacks !

Thanks again

It's Saturday so i just made a quick one after Pen Control Assignement.

I think i got the legs better but not the arms....

Have a nice weekend all !

Hi all !

I had lot of work today so couldnt practice too much, but did anyway some pen control and a figure drawing.

For the pen control, i tried quick stroke, overshooting it, to try and make more straight lines.
Also changed "smooth" parameter to something like 30%.

Then the figure drawing, quite happy with it as i see some improvements.

Wish you all a good day.

Nice work so far! One thing that I noticed was that the lines you do to show the volume of the cylinders on your figures could use a bit more curve. Right now they feel too straight at times which kills the sense of volume.

Other than that keep it up!
