This is going to be my art blog for the coming months/years hoping to get as much feedback and constructive criticism to help me develop as an artist. Don't worry about being too harsh, I value valid critique over praise any day.
Its been 1 year since I started taking art seriously as I hope one day I would be able to do it as I job. It's going to be cool looking back a year or two from now to see how I've developed as an artist.

That's hell of a good style  First thought, as composition is concerned, would be to push up the character vs. the background of your illustration. I would try to lower the contrast and general brightness of the background to make the character stand out (especially for the bottom side melting a bit with the chara design). Maybe a lighting trick would work as well (backlight or something like that). :grinning:

Hello! Glad to see you making a blog now  Looking forward to more!

Welcome to the forums
This is awesome! You're quite skilled already with lineart and values. Concerning composition: I'd give it all a little more breathing space - it seems very cut off now. The robot on the background just fits in and I'd like to see more of her legs. But I can imagine that's a little too much work now.

Lastly, take a look at her right arm anatomy, it seems bent weirdly.

I'm looking forward to seeing more

Nice work, @PandaBrush

BTW, I would push up the contrasts even more in that case! I see that you want a focus on your character, followed by the mecha on the left-side of the comp, but the background is full of details and the focus could be enhanced. Color and light direction are there to help it already, good work on that!

Here's a quick suggestion, followed by some ideas that could help you further... But maybe that's not what you expect for your image. :stuck_out_tongue:

-Details, strong vs. simple : here I've used a lens blur followed by a "Unsharp Mask" on the mech, and on the character. But it could have been done differently.
- Lights: the dark contrast on the back of the character made it pop out; the back-light you added helped a lot: here I've contrasted that side of the comp (with a small vignetting too) to help it even more.
- Now that the contrasts feel okay for me, I've mixed the overall colors a bit with a color balance.

Keep up the good work mate, hope that helps

Nice stuff in here! Excited to see more!

Hi, panda brush. Firstly I like the idea and the rendering looks good! Secondly, I think like me though you are getting excited and jumping straight into rendering without taking the necessary steps to make sure things are correct. I'm saying this because I need to drive it home for myself, as long as everything is worked out on the basic level everything else should fall into place

Oh man! I don't have much to add to what has already been said, but I just wanted to say that I really love your style.

I can't wait to see more of your work.
