Plump sort ahead. Baldurs gate owlbear cub. I knew that one painting will ruin inktober for me and every other prompt will have to be painting as well. I just can't help it. Tomorrow I will probably see all mistakes I made but for now I am satisfied with it given the time I took for it.

I was trying to make fingers but it was awful and just made simpler shapes for it.

I had a huge smile while painting it. Just look at this face. Putting highlights in eyes was the highlight

That's interesting. I've never heard of a saddle mushroom.
The Owl bear is very adorable. I like the painterly style.

Another painting. This one is frost. I used the sketch I did for traditional work but it changed a lot. I couldn't work out shoulders and back so I just covered it with hair. I am not sure if the frost can be seen there. I think she is 'frozen in time'. I wanted it to look like a sculpture like she is turned into stone. (yes I did it again)

This was spread through past 4 days. Most of it was done on day 1 but I felt it lacked something so constantly kept adding to it. I am glad worked a bit on it today as well

Working on simplifying shapes. I grouped hair into one big shape. I sometimes forget where ear contects to head while covered with hair and I just make it start where it gets seen...

This is were I initially wanted to stop.

Nice work as usual, especially the colors and brushtrokes, feels like those seem to be some of your strongest points.

Couldn't help notice her nose though.

Do you usually follow a process to select colors? or do you just try what feels right? I'm trying to use the color wheel Marc referd to, seems to work fine so far, but wondering how others chose their colors.

For colors it depends on a mood. I usually have a color scheme in mind before starting a sketch. It all comes from color harmonies but I don't strictly follow them. If I don't know what to do I choose colors from my favourite artist to have a starting point. Rest goes with color and light knowledge and what feels right. Pink and green marks on this piece were purely experimental

This one started with colors from Ayami Kojima work I stumbled upon but it quickly changed.

Color is my favourite thing to do. I have books on color and light and I took Marco Bucci course

Got a bit sick so I wasn't doing much past 2 days but I regained energy today

So this is supposed to be Celestial. It is Moon Goddess I did few months ago in her mortal form. I wanted to practice rendering a body so she doesn't have her robes yet and face

I am going to work on face now. I wanted to post it because somehow it shows all the flaws and maybe you can spot something. Some parts will be covered so I don't need to overthink that hip and belly. and Left hand should be bigger I think

I will try to give you some context when it is finished. I 'wrote' her 2 years ago and she has a bit of story and I need to work on my writing because its awful

Update. I know I am sick when face is much harder to do than the rest of the body. So many redraws repaints everything wrong. I couldn't work out eyes so I made just light in the shadows i think it works. I will work on it more tomorrow. On hair probably too. it will be easier once the rest is there. And I need some solid nose studies

She got much darker vibe than I planned but I have an idea

I wasn't sure how to word my feedback so I tried to illustrate here. I hope that's not considered rude or something...

Mostly felt like her ribs were a bit too marked over the boobs.. so I tried to lighten it up a bit, added slight shadows under the hair and "slimmed" her arm a bit by adding slight light under it. Also made the eyes glow because... huh.. I don't know.. seemed cool at the time.

But it honestly looks really good. I really love your brushstrokes.

Leaning towards the end.

Some context short version because I got lost during writing the whole thing - She, moon goddess, and sun god were lovers. Sun decided to leave pantheon to conquer mortal realms and she tries to stop him. Initially she was still in her 'mourning' phase and she held sunflower. It turned out to have different feeling so Moon is over him. She has Solar eclipse in hands to show that she will fight him.

I was trying to make broken sun at first but it was hard to see it in full size. I made body darker I think it looks better this way. No need to see the whole thing and it is less busy.

I will adjust some things later. I can barely see any changes I make. Nipples covered just in case. I tried making hair longer but I like this and it looked weird

What do you thing about solar eclipse and yellow orange things in the back?
