I abused my wrists too hard this week and I feel a bit of pain. I should take it slower but I just can't stop drawing, my imagination is overflowing ;-;

Colored the sketch I made for art trade and fixed some parts

Quickish painting of Cal as a vampire. I loved working on hair. I like the idea of him being a vampire, it suits him. Now to make it fit into story

I am going to fix some parts. I have urge to add a bit of painterly feel to it. Some parts would be easier if I painted them but I didn't want to spend so much time on it. I will see if I do it or just keep it sketchy and make the next one more refined. Already have drafts for the next short comic

And I need to find a font. I use one from csp and I wouldn't mind it if fullstops weren't floating in the middle for some reason. But I am picky and I already spent too much time scrolling through fonts

It's great seeing you get into the rythm of making more shorts and pages. I think once you get started it gets easier to do more (break the ice or something).

On regards to fonts, whichever you chose, just make sure to check the fine print in the license.

The portraits look good. I do like the details on the lions. Is this an original character? The art trade sketch looks good, and I like the Cat-girl with the snake.
I like how she looks so angry that her rage is taking up the panels in the comic.

Once I started I can't stop. I really enjoy working on it and it made me certain that it is what I want to do

Some practice that turned out to be something more. I just love drawing Cal. I didn't plan on drawing face so it maybe a bit off

Initially I wanted to go with purple colors because I liked very bright yellow for snake venom but I didn't feel it. I went back and tried something else. Sooner or later I add purplish tones to everything so

I really like it, especially the snake. Such nice shapes

As I stopped pushing studies all day every day I feel much better about my art. I don't stress too much about everything being 100% correct and it even looks better. I still get lots of intruisive thoughts but it usually means that I should just rest for a bit and the feeling fades after a while

Hehe, Cal looks good. I can understand why you like him. I mean, like to draw him

dtiys looks great! Not sure what the meaning is behind the dripping gold but overall it's cautivating. Love the way shading was done overall, the effect on the face and hair looks nice.

I feel a bit similar with how I've dramatically slowed down with my mangaworks. I try to not stress too much about progress and focus on just doing what I feel like doing and what I liked to do at the time, though I still push myself to keep progressing on that front so it's not completly dropped.

Glad to hear you seem to be managing it well. Agreed that some rest and self-care is essential to keep spirits up.

Exactly I feel the same about studies, sure they help you improve but most of the time they are just work in a sense. There's nothing wrong with that but too much of a work load can really push us away ( at least me) from the original reason you first pursued art.

the purple ver looks amazing! the gold ver is pretty cool too but for some reason the purple ver sticks out to me probs cuz of the purple contrasting with the yellow/gold potion/poison whereas with gold, its kinda yellow on yellow so doesn't stand out quite as much..

I do love the purple one I just didn't feel it for character and something was constantly off. But I plan to use it for something else

Studies do help you and you need them to grow but you also need to enjoy it and have some art just for you. It's hard to keep going when the passion is gone.

There was a time when I almost quit art before even starting because of it. I attended a course for a while and did only what the 'teacher' told me to and had no time for personal art. I hated every single piece, I hated the tools I had to work with, I hated that place, but I kept telling myself that she knows better and it is for the best. I tried sneaking some stylised studies done with the tools I liked but she wasn't fond of it. It kept sucking out my soul and I felt awful during that time. I even returned for 2nd year but after a month I quit and got Marc's course.

I feel much better since then. Do your studies but remember to have fun

Nice work on the mouse girl and the snake. I like to know about the cold nectar. Is it nectar?

I think that studies are good when used sparingly. But if you only focus on them, there will probably be no focus on your art.

Soo I just got hit with self doubt, hatred is back. Can't really focus on anything. I was so excited to start new painting and now the energy is gone...

I just feel like I lost a direction for my art. It's not clear anymore where I want to go with it. I do like my recent pieces but it isn't it. There is something I am missing...

I know it's only temporary and it will pass, but it is still annoying

Clive looks amazing!

Dorian and Val are coming along nicely. Love how Dorian has all these "fluffy" tones in the sketch while Val is all more rough around the edges.

2021 when I wanted to be background artist. I would paint a lot of environments at that time. Acrylics and bottom left is oil paint

2021 This is my favourite piece to look at when I am sad. Mostly because of how funny Malfurion (guy on the right) looks while Illidan looks great for that time. I love their faces so much

2022 around august/september Third (?) month of me doing digital art

December 2022 just before I started posting here. It was supposed to be my first post but I was too scared to share it. Now I can show pretty much everything here without hesitating.

Just started the demo for FF16, I'm happy to report the PC seems to handle it well so far xD. I'm excited, but with my schedule it will probably take me a while before I do any decent progress.

On the other hand, I'm about midway through the main campaign in FF14. Love the game. I've slowed down on it, but still jump now and then to continue doing some progress. I think you'll like the story. I think it's great. I don't think it's "the best thing ever" like many seem to think, but I do enjoy it.

Haha, you've come a long way! These are all great! Not only is your progress in art evident, but they have a certain charm and nostalgic feeling to them that makes them nice in their own way

The warcraft ones are great, they're well done and have a chibi feel to them.

I had to look up what a dhampir is, and it's pretty interesting.

I also see that you're a fan of Monster High and World Of Warcraft. Your background paintings are pretty good. You have come so far.

I haven't played Final Fantasy since XII and some of XIII. I heard Final Fantasy XVI was good, but it didn't sell well.

I'm feeling better ^^ A bit of rest, time to think and everything is good

I need to take different approach. I need to make art that I want to do and don't care about other people opinion. I don't really care about what people think but still I keep it in the back of my head. What if I painted that kind of art or something like this. It holds me back a bit

I slowed down on studies I don't do them as I used to. Some of you saw how much I could do in small amount of time. Yes it did help but it also helps burning you out. Now I mostly do observation, some copies and apply it to my works. My mind is not in the mood to consume more stuff at the moment

Cal drawing with very chill approach. No pressure just drawing. Maybe will turn it into digital painting, I really like it. Did it on paper because I don't worry about perfection there. And finally my digital skills translated onto paper ^^

I decided to give blender another try and I am glad I did. Mostly because I need to make very detailed backgrounds for my project (will talk about it soon).

Yes, I had to add purplish pink tones to it. It makes everything better

I did run into couple problems on the way. Some stuff didn't want to work so I had to mess around and find out why. It tested my patience with tons of crashes... but I finished it! And I think it looks good.
