Hey Cubebrush community, this looks like a really awesome challenge, and I'd like to take part. I'm doing team fantasy, and I've picked a rather generic creature for my entry: a Centaur.. I mainly just want to get a strong final render out, although I do hope to put a unique spin on this over-used character anyway, if I can.. Good luck to all!

Ref sheet:
Base mesh created yesterday... needs a crapload of detailing and armor and stuff... I'm also toying with a bunch interesting ideas to get him out of the "average" zone if I can. We'll see how it goes.
Initial detail pass for the base body...
Nothing wrong with the classics though. The base body looks really good already, I am curious to see what your spin on it will be.
pretty good start rico, glad to see you here
killer start dude. already looking better than any one of my "finished" sculpts.cant wait to see your next post
^ thanks guys! I'll post more stuff soon..
hey thanks! Glad to see you here as well!
Here is an update... , going with what I believe could a pretty unique design/story idea.. Still early days, time will tell if this works or not What do you think?
That is kind of cool i would just attempt to break up the busy wood design with something else? a cloth or even growth or nature flowers/leafs/vines/maybe even some sap? Rated K.
Hecarim from league of legends came to mind when I read the last two posts.Trees, rocks, vegetation, etc.
yeah that's my plan... want to use some mossy growth to cover up some areas thanks!
oh yeah I saw this somewhere! very cool!
LOL never played well 'LOL' but the phrase "I AM GROOT" entered my mind loving the design dude so cool.
Small update... added in some branches and vines. Still trying to decide how to proceed with the face... also the hooves will probably be more rocky or wood looking. Oh and the hands should look more like wood as well.
Haha I've never played LOL either lol. xD thanks for your feedback tho. yeah Groot is an awesome inspiration on this as well
Looking great. Nice idea. Groot came to my mind as well.
Worked on the hands and hooves, and toying with this idea for antlers... what sayest thou, yay or nay?
cheers
i think he looks better without the antlers, however maybe have some twigs and leaves coming off of him?? Give him more of a forest look perhaps?? Obviously, it's your choice
But so far he is looking really great!
