Hey Ryan! The folds in your drapery are really well defined. The edges on the upper two pieces are too sharp, but I think you nailed it with the third - it's really nice.

Saw this on Discord! Like everyone said, the black one is amazing! I feel like you did a great job balancing had and soft edges as well as keeping the values in check. The white one looks nice too, but I think it's too bright in some areas. The bottom part is almost, if not as bright as the top part. Since the light is coming from above the bottom part shouldn't compete with the top. If you darken that area a bit and sharpen the edges more between the highlights and shadows it'll level it up. Hope this is helpful!

Thank you so much for the Critique Lesley, I am most proud of the black one for sure it felt like I had complete control over the reference. I will certainly clean it up because these are going into a University Portfolio, I've been recommended studying the drapery of Greek Statues next so plenty of opportunities there I think

A few sketches/ studies of mine from over the past days, I've begun to feel a lot more confident from working in area's where I have a good grasp of what I'm doing practicing the whole Small Victories philosophy  will be building back up to interior design

Labelled/ Practiced some muscles for the first time the other night, figured this kind of stuff was super relevant for my Art School Journey so I'll let it live here

Did a master study of the amazing Xa Gueuzav, was a real challenge and felt like I didn't get it all quite right, did learn an absolute tonne from this though!

Lazy colour experiment to unwind after that master study, definitely need to get my structure better before I can level my rendering up, but I'm looking into ways I can get that done, might be time for more Reily Head/ Plane grinding

Potions, I actually lost the Photoshop file for these partway through working on it so I'm cutting my losses and just posting what I had, will complete the series at some point after I've spent some time drawing other things

Been really busy lately with my new mentorship although I had some time to sit down and get some metal rendering done, I followed a tutorial for this one and thought I came pretty close although with my art there seems to be certain traps and pitfalls I keep falling into need to stay aware of those if I want to improve

Some more potions I've been brewing up, University applications make Alchemy very appealing.

Probably the one piece of work I wanted to try and get just right, did a Master Study of Marc's work as a goodbye gift as I start University felt like this was strong in some areas but always room to grow, otherwise I've just been settling into the Uni life and trying to get too grips with everything before Classes begin, cheers!

Hey everyone sorry for the absence, University has been busy, just figured I'd update my forum with a few things I did in my spare time and a final look at my end of year progress, I am really pleased with what I have achieved this year looking back, I certainly want to work on my speed from now on however, cheers! - Ryan

During the Christmas break I finally joined the infamous Blender Donut club, I am now part of the exclusive society B)

Let me know what you think

And finally a big project for the new year, part of my Environment Module at Uni has been to construct a Fantasy Inn so using all the new skills I've learned since September and with the help of @Vonschlippe we're arriving at a line quality I've not really managed to so far, should be turning point for me if the render goes well
