Hello!
I wasn't sure where to really seek some general feedback, but I feel like I've hit a wall in how or what I can improve on in my artwork - I know I can improve and there is a lot of improvement to be made, but its hard to get out of my own head and identify my major weaknesses. I wasn't exactly sure who or where to ask, so I came to the CubeBrush forums as a conscious effort to hopefully get some direction and feedback to put me back on the right path. Any advice, resources, suggestions and all of that is very welcomed and I apologize this isn't more of a focused request but rather broad.

As a goal, I'd like to work as an illustrator in the games industry is possible.

These are some pieces I've drawn in the recent months to hopefully give an idea of where I currently am at -

Hi! I'm not sure if I really have a lot to offer in terms of guidance as your work already has a lot of very good thing about it. The mood, lighting, color choices and detail work all look pretty good to me. In terms of composition, things look fine too. The only thing of note I really see is some small anatomy and maybe perspective things. So that's probably where i'd put my focus as judging from the 3 images your work is more character centric.

In the first one, I think the neck might be a bit long. The top and back skull might be a bit too large too, unless she has very thick hair.

On the second one, the hands are really small (but maybe she's just made like that!) and I feel like the angle of the head doesn't quite match the angle of the torso.

And as for the last one, the only thing that I see is the ellipses of the armband she has her right arm are just too flat which kills the sense of volume and foreshortening.

Beyond that though, you're doing pretty well I'd say. I hope this helps!

Thank you, this does definitely help. Thank you for taking the time to do the draw-overs as well, those really did point out a lot of my mistakes especially on these pieces.

I'm doing Marc's course so don't mind me, I'll critique only what I've been made apt with so you don't have to listen plus this is a pretty late reply (someone more experienced gave you feedback any how) ^^

First image I love the colors and values; the subtle linework in the background gives me a very peaceful/relaxed feeling, combined with the wide use of spacing. I can easy tell of the weight of the individual's expression and presence as the focus, and the light shining in compliments to the character's overall volume ^^

The second I'm drawn particularly to the face and, nicely enough, the blue shoulder pieces; the patterns in them are lovely, as they are on the gold—the values on them draw me in a fair amount, in-fact.

For the third, I like the sense of scale, though would have made the character slightly smaller, or lessened the values on the moon(?) and sun behind her. Her head piece purely for the patterns and the apparent texture of the clothing I'm enjoying a lot, I found myself drawn to her eyes the most.

I do feel with the third one as mentioned the color values feel a little overpowering both, other than that, I enjoyed it!
