I see. I'm looking for alternatives for Z Brush. I do have ZBrush Mini, which is a free one.

@gregorya yeah, I think blender is a pretty good option for indicidual artists. I mean, if going pro and working in the industry I think zbrush makes more sense, also, if you make good money off it then I can understand sure, but uff, 40 a month is a bit steep for an app, that’s 480 a year just to keep using the app, just doesn’t compute in my brain. It’s bad enough having to pay for a bunch of other recurrent bills

@gregorya Yeah, but it costs like 900 bucks and won't cover updates beyond a certain point, that's like two years of the usual subscription pricing so I'm hesitant to bite that bullet.

@Gordon003 Yeah, it's fun to experiment! Just have to watch out not to get burned out from learning all this technical lingo in 3D and app specific stuff - it gets really heavy!

Haven't had much time for anything today but managed to 3d sketch an ear on a new app I tried on the ipad during off time at work, it's called Nomad Sculpt, kind of like zbrush on ipad (though I heard official zbrush is coming to ipad now). Pretty intuitive I guess because I couldn't be bothered to learn much about it - just directly played around

It won't cover the updates? That doesn't sound good.
That's a nice sculpt. For the first image, Is the ear backward?
I like the sketch. I think the shaded leg should be a little lower.

Yes, first view is from the side/behind left ear.

As for perpetual license "This will include the new ZBrush 2023.0 features, including the Redshift Bridge. To use the Redshift Bridge, you must subscribe to Redshift separately.
Perpetual licenses (including upgrades from earlier versions) are only sold for the initial ZBrush 2023 release. They do not include feature updates that came after that, such as 2023.1 and 2023.2."

Nice portrait study, I really appreciate how you go about forming the planes of your faces. Just looks really nice, and the way you draw the eyes always impresses me. Really cool to see you exploring 3D, seems like you are already getting the hang of that, excited to what else you experiment with! Keep it up!

Tried painting this one with the least amount of strokes as possible as an exercise, lots of problems, but it was fun, will try another, also, I used a lot of strokes XD

I haven't stopped by recently, so I have missed so much of your work. You did a really fine job with your paintings. I love how much detail you give to the eyes. The only thing I will point out is the placement of the mouth in your second painting, the one from Vogue. If you pay close attention, the mouth should extend further right. If you drew a perfectly straight, vertical line down from the edge of the orbital bone, that's where the right corner of the mouth should land but it comes short; hence, the mouth looks off. Apart from that, everything else looks fine. I am sorry I can't provide much more feedback since you are more advanced than me in the subject of shading; if anything, I am the one learning here. On another note, your 3d renders are impressive and so are your sketches.

These look great! Both the doctor painting and the 3D exercices! The ear insides seems really detailed!

I like the challenge of painting a picture with only a few brush strokes. The lighting looks great.

@Sthingz Thanks for pointing that out! I thought I got everything on the second iteration but totally missed that!

Yeah, this exercise is pretty nice, was motivated to do this for a while, but never got to it. First time I saw something like that was a youtube video a few months ago but it was done in traditional, something like looking at a still life of a fruit and trying to paint it with a limited number of brush strokes

haven't done more yet, just a figure sketch practice. Gonna do more though, it's pretty fun and I feel it's a great exercise to focus on simplifying and deciding what's most important to portray
