Snakker here, struggling a bit with the gestures, I feel they are terrible atm. Here are a few examples, any tips or critique is appreciated. Also note, some or most of these I took probably too long per picture as I was manually clicking towards the next pictures

Also, a question, even though I still haven't seen the perspective classes yet and definitely don't feel ready to move on from term 1, but when does one "finish" a term in digital art school?

I think your gestures are coming along alright
What i'd personally recommend is to first do a "stick figure gesture" and then once u get the pose down, add more muscle and mass on top of the stick figures - that way you will always get the gesture in at least:

Personally what i do is - i ask myself - do i feel comfortable enough with this to not need any more practice with it? will i get worse at this topic if i move on to the next?

if the answer is yes for comfortability and no - i wont get worse at this from not practicing this topic anymore - then i would move on.

But remember - you keep these videos forever. if for some reason you move on but then feel not quite ready u can always go back to term one for more practice

Really good answer there @mitsuki-youko , It really does comes down to whether you feel comfortable to move on or not, and if you forget something then the videos are always there for you.

@snakker Your gestures do not look terrible at all, far from it, you've got really nice form to them, and proportion wise they look correct.
About you spending "too much time" on each drawing, you could consider purchasing this Program that Marc used in his Term 1 Gesture Drawing Class.

NOTE: I'd recommend you to have a fair few pose pictures to avoid repetition further, and to get an idea of how the human body works in loads of poses.
I use it personally and it's a BIG QOL to not have to click out of photoshop to get a new picture and then click back in. And the pictures it selects are also randomized to avoid repetition.

Hey everyone, took a little break and bak at it, here are a couple of gestures, going to be working on some more figures from reference with simplified anatomy and going to start perspective class next

I could recommend website like "Line-of-Action" or "Quickposes". There you can start 30sec / 60sec / .... sessions with reference poses and its free ^.^
I personally use my iPad as second screen, sometimes just my phone (not so comfy tho), for the poses so I could draw on my Computer.

Thanks @mitsuki-youko and @prinzmoana for the remarks, glad you like the gestures I feel like I am starting to get the hang of it, also realizing just how important gesture drawing is and how much it can make your art evolve

I actually used the quickposes website, very nice. I don't have any interesting assignment work to share today but I do have a couple of doodles from when I just play around for fun (I wrote imagination so that I can refer back to it in the future and compare how I'm doing)

Hey everyone, I've been a bit under the weather yesterday so I was only looking at some of your art and taking a break. Feeling better today and started doing some gestures. Never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually enjoying doing gestures They're kinda fun, you get a nice feel for the movement even in poses that seem kinda stiff

Very nice Gestures as usual Snakker!, But the most important thing is that you take care of yourself, Don't worry about taking a break every now and then, just don't extend it for too long and you'll be all good.
Keep going at it when you feel like it, and I can't wait for your perspective studies!.

Hey there, snakker here, still alive XD

First off, thanks for the kind remarks and yes @CYP2C19 health comes first. I am still recovering or going through some kind of flu-like illness so I haven't had a lot of energy these last days

Anyways, I checked out perspective 1, and trying to draw a room, I quickly realized that even though I can definitely draw some walls and a window, I have ZERO creativity or visual vocabulary to try to populate that room creatively Any tips are highly appreciated, I'll soon post whatever I manage to conjure XD

Oh I know exactly what you mean with the room stuff 😵‍💫
What might help is thinking of a theme (sci-fi, magical, steampunk,...) and/or a purpose of the room (car-shop, hospital room, lab,...).

If you have a purpose you automatically can think of stuff you would NEED for that purpose. And it's always good to gather some reference ^^
