Wow, that's good info to share. A bit over my head to be honest, I barely spend time doing physical art, but it's good info to be aware of. thanks!
Haha, same here, I am more doing digital but I do feel I need to do some traditional so as not to be 100% digital and not be able to draw a simple drawing in physical. Here are my tools, time to get to work!
Cheers!
Hey so on the topic of traditional art, this is officially my first detailed graphite portrait study ๐๐ผ (edit tried finding a better angle where the light doesnโt reflect off the glossy graphite)
Process and reference
woahhh u got the fancy japanese ink
Dayum that graphite study looks so good!
I just realized i focused too much on a โshadow shapeโ on his cheek that makes it look like hes lacking a parotid gland it it so happens its makeup ๐ i really need to stop and think before drawing
not sure what you mean, it looks great!
Trying my hand at some simpler heads from imagination >_< I still feel these are kinda terrible, but may as well keep posting this stuff so I can see how they were at this point as I improve
Cheers
Your traditional work is great! your shading and hatching is 100% goals
also I think heads from imagination might be one of the most challenging things to do
Thanks @matthewwemes Must admit, it is very hard indeed!
So, starting up with some warm up quick sketchesTime for some perspective/environment work X_X
cheers
Gridwork
Enviro study based on Water temple ruins by Boris Turano
oooooooh lookin good so far!
warmup doodle and today's first study, 1 point perspective from low vantage point, no view of the horizon to convey claustrophobic feel (do note these shadows are just eyeballing XD absolutely not accurate)
Next is 2pt birds eye view, useful to set a scene, help locate and understand a setting
The first perspective exercice reminds me of faceball. That should tell you how old I am
The second one truly looks liek it was 3D rendered. Looks very clean.
your latest environment and perspective studies are looking great! and eyeballing shadows is what I almost always do lol
Nice job with the perspective ! You are doing great.
@daceronine @Kaz_0 @matthewwemes thanks for the kind remarks! I gotta keep working hard on environments!
For now a doodle at work, pen and ink - might get onboard this inktober thing
I like how polished your buildings are. Keep up with the art studies
Thanks mate!
