Hey everyone, thank you for the kind comments been reading a bit and doodling. I've realized a lot of things I've been doing wrong, or at least had wrong in my head about figure drawing. So definitely a lot to work on. Also, everyone I'm reading and listening to and their grandma is telling me I need to be able to manipulate stuff in 3D. Now I know Marc says it isn't an assignment per se, but I couldn't help myself and did a ton. Here I'm posting the most relevant. I feel I've had more than one epiphany doing these. I feel more like I'm sculpting while doing these now than drawing, just placing foundations and adding on top or modifying them, erasing what was there before as it changes
Also played around with foreshortening a bit and some gestures from today. Gotta keep doing those gestures ! (these are 2 min each)

Rotating a more complex form like the cube cylinder thingy is pretty hard to draw and you managed it pretty damn good 😲👍

Hey everyone, snakker here with another photo dump.

So today the christmas aliens decided to surprise me with a mysterious early christmas present and now I have weapons grade "full metal pencil" (a rOtring rapid pro So I've been playing around with it and man it feels solid, like meaning business solid. And actually is comfy to use, which, being metal and heavy, surprised me.

Been studying the Tomfoxdraws book and term 2 anatomy, starting up with plenty of 3D visualization and construction, and now some ears

So today, I had a really long day so couldn't do too much. Did manage to sketch a few ears at work on procreate and gave the video recording feature a go, so I made a YouTube channel to be able to upload it here, so I guess I'm a YouTuber now XD Also some head practice and some doodles

Keep up the shape drawings, these are the basics, and you are improving. The key with the shading and the manequin figure poses are also good. ^^

Thanks! @Evilith I totally agree, and like with gestures, am realizing how powerful simple exercises are at getting those initial artists xp gains
So today was a family day, again not much time. Gonna watch the game awards and see if elden ring won and then start learning about the nose and reading up on drawing skulls

Damn Snakker, I've been "gone" for 3 Days and I come back to all these studies?, You're fast af!. And my lord, those ears are so freaking good, that shading is immaculate!, really shows you know a thing or 2 about Anatomy!.
Though I did notice on SOME of your boxes, the part that's closer to the "camera" are slightly smaller than what's further away, 'member to check on that.
And some of your lines could be more parallel as some tend to stick away in slightly different directions, giving some of your shapes an off look.
Other than that these studies are phenomenal!.

@CYP2C19 You are correct, thank you for pointing that out! I’m going to to have to implement doing some parallel lines in different directions and curves to my warm ups and also do more forms in perspective

The game awards were a bit long so I didn’t manage to get the studies done last night. I did watch a video by sinix on the skull that was pretty nice with my morning coffee today, I highly recommend his videos

Also, ELDEN RING won GOTY 😃 and they announced the new armored core by from software and now I’m hyped

alright, now I am off to work and will post as soon as I get some studies done
