Another long day, couldn’t get much done. Here are a few studies on neck forms from different angles and how it connects to the mandible. The first two jaws were from photo reference, the rest are all exercises trying to construct the forms in 3D. The last one was from reference of the figure and then analyzing the structures

Some awards I found a bit surprising but well xD

Oh and btw I love the pumpkin, these somewhat angular shapes combined with the sketchy, subtle shading create a very beautiful appeal :}

Thanks for the kind remarks That ear was done with a pencil brush in procreate, and the blurry parts are either by tilting or using the smudge tool. I'm finding some joy drawing ears I find their shapes appealing

As for the Game awards, I'm happy with Elden Ring and Miyazaki getting their well deserved prizes. (best direction, art design and game of the year) As for other awards, meh, not too sure about many of them honestly. Super hyped by Miyazaki's initial involvement in the new armored core game, the lead director right now is the same guy who designed most of Sekiro! Super hyped XD. - yes I'm a big from software fanboy who 100% Elden Ring and kept playing

Thanks for the remarks on the pumpkins, I'll keep these observations in mind! (it's odd how we sometimes don't know what makes our work good, and mostly focus on fixing the things we do wrong)

And well, I've been hard at trying to learn the skull with the Anatomy for artists book so I haven't advanced yet to noses, guess I'll be doing that next and pause the book study (this is some heavy stuff! but I like how he approaches learning 3D forms)

Yeah Studio Ghibli is amazing, I've started Ni Nu Kuni wotww recently
But right now I'm busy with Dragon Quest Treasures xD

Ohhh wait a second... I thought you drew in a real sketchbook, but it's just a picture x'D Man these studies look so fine ^-^

Oh, I also like Miyazaki from studio Gibli, but that’s another miyazaki XD this Miyazaki is the director or dark souls, elden ring etc (the crazy dude in the picture)

And yeah, I do also have a real sketchbook, but I like this ofea of doing the studies when in digital with a sketchbook pocture set as multiply in the topmost layer 😃

So I'm done with my more technical anatomy studies for today, also did my daily gestures and tried simplifying a bit. Next will be to try a couple of shaded or painted noses and skulls, maybe also check out a couple of alternate ways to see how noses are constructed, who knows

Some of my daily gestures, (2 min) - I took some liberties with proportions on some of these, but I'm also aware that I tend to elongate the torso, which is not deliberate

Dude I love your work especially the anatomy the studies and gestures, they're so detailed and animated and your doodles are a joy to look at like one of your latest ones, the giant man/monster thing coming out of the manhole cover, it looks like a large friend! or at least to me it does XD

Hey there, thanks @matthewwemes and @queeniemp glad you liked it
Currently at worked so I doodled a couple of noses from imagination to practice. There’s one concept (well a lot of concepts) that I am not so sure about. Haven’t really studied anything deep about color theory yet, but I am sometimes unsure when to make shades cool or warm. In these noses I added slight warmth to the shade as the tip of the nose is well vascularized but also some colder shades where the mlstril occludes the light, I think its just artistic flavor XD but I am sure there is more to it. Regardless I do like giving these decisions some thought so as not to just do this like crazy or random. Also, hard to imagine the planes from memory and imagine how light will interact

Anyhow, any comments or tips are highly appreciated cheers!
