For today, starting out with some perspective practice, multiplying squares to build things measured in perspective with 3 view plan first, just basic forms for now

Lol, I have no idea what I was drawing in the landscape XD I just feel drawing the blocks on their own is boring for presentation purposes

I came up with a crazy idea of a C shaped spaceship with some foreshortening where I placed the blocks so I tried my best at constructing it using what I just learned, I measured with available units (1 4x4 = 1 unit) 5 length, 7 height

These perceptive exercises look great. Especially the curved portion of the spaceship. it looks really good!

Lol my significant other is like, "that's a badly drawn horseshoe" XD

Here are some preliminary studies for the next perspective drawing, going to attempt composing a "pose" for this vehicle using what I've learned, I know it's a little advanced to actually draw vehicles in perspective and I haven't gotten that far in Scotts book, but yeah, gonna experiment!

Tank process so far
1. Make a grid
2. measure out proportions
3. start making the base

Oh god, this is the hardest brain workout I've had to do since calculus XD

I had to make a 10.000 x 10.000 canvas to make the new VPs to rotate the turret like I wanted XD
Then constructing it in proportions X_X

This looks pretty accurate ^.^
Only thing I'm not quite sure about is the upper part on the left... I don't know where the bottom edge is going, but besides that I really like the wheels (or whatever these are called xD)

Thanks for the kind remarks! Yeah, that edge might be a bit off, I'll double check
haven't done much for today, but did get a chance to play with some color based off of a reference picture

Yoooo Snakker, very nice technical perspective work! Looking great!

My only suggestion would be to make a lineweight pass over this excellent construction to help separate the shapes. You've already done all of the hard work by sorting out the shapes and drawing them correctly in perspective, and I always find that a lineweight pass helps boost my confidence. They are quick and follow simple rules and yield awesome results.

I'm certain this is covered somewhere in Art School, but as a reminder, heavier lineweight can be used to imply that:

a. something overlaps something else
b. something is closer to the viewer
c. something is in shadow compared to something else
d. something is heavy (like darkening the bottom of the box in the image implies weight)

I did a quick pass to show you what I mean. Hopefully it helps!

@mitsuki-youko I was actually considering it! would you recommend a total beginner at that to try it in photoshop directly or some other app? I drew it on procreate

I am going to be doing a few of these more direct studies, focusing much more heavily on the block in accuracy and speed, and making sure to analyze the shadows, midtones etc. Not too much focus on finish or rendering. Used photoshop - basic round brush
