Thanks for the kind remarks! Been very busy these days with lots of stuff, but ive been constantly practicing my pencil work, not too many fun pieces to share but i do have this recent sketch i kinda liked
The ref was actually from a reddit post asking for advice on shading studies and though i still consider myself a beginner I do like giving critique in areas i feel confident to further enforce my knowledge or at least what i think and understand so far. Always open to more feedback for my as well though as this may have a bunch of mistakes too

So what i tried to do here is use straight lines to emphasize and exaggerate his robustness on his right silhouette and some heavy lines on the nose, lips and upper lids to catch attention to his features despite this photo being captured in harsh backlight. The highlights are starkly in contrast with his features and the rest of the face is in shade and relatively flat so i simplified the values ro mostly two darks and some darker ones on the nose and in the ear. I purposefully used a very curved C curve and a bit if an angle to give dynamism and character to his nose (it is not a copy of his kinda bent bridge).
For some reason i think he looks more contemplative and or sad in this depiction ๐
i was focusing on the other stuff and didnt manage to really capture his slight anger or simply base โangry looking faceโ (he has strong facial muscles and would probably need botox to relax and not look angry but then his lids may close more XD )
Then i darkened the background with some hatching so that its not a big white highlight background, more similar to the background in the shot
Cheers
