Term 1 - Sebastian

Hey Guys! I am Sebastian and I am studying communication-design in Germany. I specialized in illustration and graphic design and I wanna get better at drawing and painting. Here are the first assignments. Of course, feedback is welcome.

Here are some of the gesture studies I did. I feel like I struggle more with the 1 Minute studies than the 30 Second ones. Anyway, feedback on these is always welcome. ^^

And the 1 point perspective assignment. I could have added more stuff and little details, it looks a bit empty here and there.

Love furniture designs.

but I can see few things that are a bit off.
One will be is that the top of the wardrobe will be horizonal.
Because it's kinda like a rule in one point perspective.
"One point perspective assumes the flat, facing planes of objects have no depth but the sides and edges leading away from the viewer have depth. The artist need only decide the vertical and horizontal measurements of each form and connect them to a single vanishing point. This will create an illusion of depth."

another one is the bottom part of the window.
and the last one i can see was this railing. The bottom parts of the Sticks don't align with each other. As if they have different width.

Last but not least, the two-point Perspective assignment. Is it just me, or is there something off with the last building? I don't know maybe you guys have some advice for this one.

Looks fine, and you also made sure to vary the line weight so it works well. The rood and posts are not at the same angle/position as the buildings in front of it, so that might seem a little off. And floors tend to be fairly consistent in height, so the windows are at a different height than the other buildings in front of it.

But again, none of that is incorrect for the building, just inconsistent with its neighbors.

Looks good, are you going to keep on detailing and refining it?

Looking at your gestures, can I suggest you to search for FORCE gesture drawing. looking some video it gave me some fresh idea to how to trace any line, distracting by the details and looking more at motion.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I'll probably make it more consistent and add a little bit of detail, but I don't think I completely refine it. At least for now.

Finally, I had some more time to fix/redraw the two-point perspective assignment. I think it looks much better and more consistent than the previous one.

Solid choices, looks like a traditional western main street now.
