I have been thinking on and strategizing this contest for some time as I intend to select the correct category that not only works with my strengths, but also benefits me with more than just exposure. I am approaching this challenge with hopes to explore the world I plan to create for a graphic novel I am looking to create.

I have taken a few hours to create some roughs and moods using my favorite blockout program, Alchemy. Here are the very few that I feel have a decent start, however I may be inspired to start a few more later on. I would like to just get something on here for now and see how they are received. Please give me your opinions and advice on this as I aim to reach a wide audience for my novel. Thank you.

Scene1: Canted Hive with flying Humans and cracked earth.

Scene 2: Desert Wastes with dust mountains on structures and wreckage.
Scene 3: Ice Age City with Military influence and turrets.

Project Husk: Scene 5 Touch-ups and re-imagining

I have not gotten any feedback or responses on these items, so I have select Scenes 1 and 5 to continue. Here is a touch up and re-imagine of Scene 5, which was the more abstract and undefined of the two. This work may also help set the mood and structure of Scene 1 for more consistency.

My setting has changed from being inner structure to being between derelict skyscrapers that have been fortified on the sides. I think I am going to aim for a civilization that has been exiled from the earth's lower surfaces due to quakes and toxins. I have also begun to design how my beings have advanced to overcome these challenges. The being on the left will be an "Omni", overbearing enforcer beings that have taken up forms to resemble angels. Critiques and Feedback really appreciated please.

Touchups to Canted Ariel Shot for a better lighting setup. I feel far enough into production to take a break from these asset and do some callout sheets with what I have. Critiques and Feedback needed please!!!

Block out on the Callout! This is some simple silhouette work I did to research into my Scraper buildings. This is also my first callout sheet ever, so please let me know if I am doing it right.

Nice silhouettes! Now I see more clearly your previous sketches. Combine it all together and you will have interesting vision to paint :).

Definitely starting to feel out for some strong elements to incorporate into this design with the callout. Still working on it, but posting my progress for the day.

the color looks nice, however it seems lack of depth. Better if you try to separate your image to 3 different part. Foreground, main ground, and background. The background part will show the sense of depth at your image..
Keep it up man...

FINAL CALLOUT SHEET FOR NOW! (Please note that this is callout, not final concept)
A long weekend with very little work done on this. Contract work building up as well. With the current timeframe, I am needed to begin rushing through some of these concepts now. I will need to call it a day on this Callout sheet for the scraper now with the possibility of returning to it in the future. I may be sticking with the simplistic and graphical look I have here. Inspirations from Creature Box and Samurai Jack. Moving on to another Callout. Let me know what you think and excuse me for the hasty grunge.

PERSPECTIVE TRIUMPHS!!! Thankfully i have some knowledge in linear perspective or this would have been a nightmare. With time closing in, I was not able to put as much time into this as I wanted. This is the general layout of how an inner scraper slum community may appear as opposed to the more elite who live in the mushroom shaped canopies. I know that this concept seems to be another environment piece all in itself, but this is a callout for my Inner Structure Concept.

Please let me know what you think and I will be sure to make changes once the scene concepts are further along, if not complete. I really look forward to completing this contest and building up some more momentum in my project.

Really trying to crunch these concepts in and I am sure that you see my obvious reusing of the callout concepts for both the interior and background structures. I am looking forward to finishing this concept today and maybe starting the second officially tonight since Sundays are somewhat rough for. I will keep powering through this and I look forward to seeing everyone's finals. This area will be directly beneath one of the shroom-shaped canopy structure and I should have some hanging debris/cloudy sky to fill in my alchemy spots in the top left.

This is what I have for concept 1. I hope I will be able to work on the second tomorrow. Wish me luck. I will be modifying and improving the concepts once I have finished the contest.

I did some work on the canted hive concept and threw in a ship design to compliment the era. You may notice it in both concepts. Where's the Waldo-wing? lol

Last pic is not very clear when it comes to the 'rebuilding' stuff I think. Keep it up though, nice work!
