Hello guys  ,

so this is the start of my Art journey, well i had a bit rough start because on procreate its kinda different from photoshop but after a time i got it.

But i have to say by the last picture i have kinda problems to get hang on it how to use the hue, saturation, and curves. Well this was my first time to work digital on a picture soo i guess it is kinda ok and there is of course room to improve!

Here i have the very first try of Gesture drawing,
i have to say the time limit stressed me out and i know the results are not very good.
The first picture was the first time and was in 45 sec time limit.
The second picture is a few days later in 1 min time limit.
I will keep practicing more because its very new to me this kind of study

Thank you for your time reading this
Criticism is always allowed and appreciated

Keep it up! Gesture drawing was so hard when I first started, I hated it so much. Keep at it and it will get easier! If you feel like you aren't getting anything out of the shorter times bump it up to 2 mins.

Thank you for your advice i will bump it up !

One thing that works really well for me too. Is if I get to a body part that I just don't understand sometimes ill take as much time as I need to just figure out that specific part, then I will restart the gesture until I can get it in time. I also found it helpful to look back through marcs previous feedback videos and find gestures of other students I liked and I studied them and tried to analyze the decisions they made. I also stop after each drawing and observe mine and the reference for the same amount of time. Those all help me maybe some will help you!

With gesture drawing you could make the initial gesture line in a different colour so that we can separate it from the rest of the drawing.

I think you are often drawing where you believe the spine is rather than trying to capture the action, form and pose of a subject, which is mistake I made a lot too at the start.

Ah yes, I see! I think thats the mistake i often make with the line of action!

Yes i also believe that i make it wrong for myself or the state i am in now. I did it with a timer and moved on to the next drawing without analyzing the gesture if it was correct.

1 year later

It`s been a long time
i had many private things to do and lost track of my art journey, but recently i revived it
So this are some of my latest exercises of gesture drawings. At the moment i draw with a limit of 1:30 min. If you guys have something to critize you are welcome, i want to improve after all. Thank you for your time to watch my drawings
