I feel you, it can be hard!
I think now in hindsight that the three exercises are very smartly selected. In one you draw cylinders spheres and cubes to represent forms in 3D space using a body as reference, in another you work hand eye coordination and measuring plus double checking yourself and in the third you learn to get a feel for the poses. No anatomy needed. A few things that I learned during the process of term 1 is that there are certain combinations of lines that can look very pleasing (like tapering curves that intersect with straight lines or angles denoting forces or flows of gravity) and others donβt (like symmetrical curves for example) and the importance of varying line-weight (and paying attention to quality of the lines in general)
One thing that helps woth this is to experiment with the placement of your canvas and how you use your arm to draw. Definitely try drawing big - use all the canvas - and have an angle that is comfortable to you - even better if it allows you to use your shoulders to draw
Cheers and keep working it!
