Oh, I just remembered...

This is posted in the main topic (the pinned thing, what do you call it?) I hope you've seen it!

damn did not see that, alright then i guess im going have to solve a calculus math puzzle to figure out how do this from head to toe . XD damn what a set back

This is a really cool idea and I like the progress of it. One thing I have noticed is with the mask, its white and bright purple vs. the other color scheme. My eyes keep wanting to focus on the mask because its soo bright compared to the rest of the costume. Maybe add some white or purple for the rest of the outfit to help lead the eye away?? other than that I am looking forward to seeing more progress

Thanks for feedback, i'll either try to fade the purple bow so it isn't as noticeable and doesn't catch the eye as much or just get rid of it all together

Your character''s looking good! I love your idea of illustration, just a simple angle of the camera with the character kind of like badass walking, tells a lot about her and the story. Your rendering is going great too, so pumped to see your work progess

Alright mate, you already know I'm poking my nose over your shoulder, so....
Values.
I thought you were gonna fix them by now, but seeing how you're getting ready to finish...

This is what your values look right now, and what I see immediately is that there aren't many strong darks and the overall contrast of the image is pretty weak. The light that is coming from the top is fine, but the flames on the bottom are barely visible. After a fairly quick paint-over, I got this:

It's far from perfect, but I think it gets the point across.
I used a top right light source, a bit of ambient (or whatever is called) lightning and of course, the fire on the bottom. The smoke in the bg became very dark, so I tried to break it up in a way that would compliment the character, not compete with her. (that could use some more work, like on the right of her neck). I kicked up the lights of the costume a bit, changed a bit the way the lights went on the hair, they looked very artificial imho (again, that could use some more work). And then some very faint light to transparent gradients on the top right and bottom left.

Here are the two one next to the other:

The focal point is still not too clear, but it's a start.

I hope you get something out of this! ~(^O^)~

Damn dude I got a lot more than just something, this is what I call a great critique. Now as for the values, I knew something was very off about it but I could put my finger on it on how to fix it, thank you very much for pointing out, i'll get right on it

The cut on her leg should not be parallel with her armor–it hurts the composition. Other than that, your rendering is looking awesome. I love the armor on her arms!

True true, should I change the angle of it or just put the armor piece back on?

It reminds me a lot of DanLuvisi's work. He is one of the judges for this contest, great thing

I apologize everyone for the lack of updates, my irl is being a bit busy right now i should have a new update by tomorrow or later today
