Hey! I'm finally joining Art War this year after some technical problems last year... So good Luck to everyone and let the war begin!

Loveday didn't have it easy. Nobody wanted to play with the weird kid that can shoot blue flames out of her hands and talks to ghostly creatures.
She couldn't controll her powers and those who promised her help and support turned out to be vicious villains.
Now with a twisted mind she brings terror and destruction to innocent people.

My character's a young lady suffering from her troubled childhood. She has the power to summon toy-like demons/ghosts which she can't always control. Being violent and destructive since a young age, villains successfully forced her on their side and she never had the chance to be a child. Now she isn't really in her right mind anymore and tries to spread destruction wherever she goes.

The first sketches i did traditionally because my sketchbook was closest (sorry for the bad quality) :

Cool idea, can't wait to see where you take it next!

A more refined sketch and some color tests. I want her design to be childish, while still looking like a villain. That's why she's wearing a cape; because honestly everbody with superpowers needs a cape :stuck_out_tongue:
Choosing colors is really hard for me so I'm happy for the challenge and the practice.

I really like 3 or 4, those colors feel the most villain-y to me

Been thinking of the final illustration. It seems really cluttered right now and I'm not sure on the composition and perspective yet. I'm also not satisfied with the design of her monsters because I wanted them to look more like children toys, so I'll probably try out a little bit more with that.

So cool atmosphere !
Maybe your villain needs to be bigger on the canvas ?

Keep it up ^^

I'm in the middle of the painting process and quite happy about the deadline extension because I didn't have much time during the holidays.

I struggled a lot while painting because I usually work with lineart and hard shadows, so this is a big challenge. And a lot of fun
