Was sketching out some idea for my vilain and ended up coming back to the same idea again and again so here is a first quick concept. THe idea is to go for a character with mind control mix with puppet master. It's still a very early idea but I am going to work on that ddirection.
The outfit is still temporary, that's why he's wearing slippers.. or maybee I will keep them, not sure yet

Made another quick sketch with some new ideas. Think I am getting closer to what I want. I am still giving myself 2 more days to put the the concept together before going into 3D

Had some time this weekend to make a first ry with the 3d blocking. I ended changing some stuff in the design, removing the coat and adding some sort of wood backpack which should have a face on it. Overall I am quite happy with the changes enven tho I might and will do some more. I need to find somethign a bit more interesting with the arms for example. It's also going to have more spirit mask coming out of his back, in the end I am thinking at least 3

Just updated the different masks as well as the spirits global shape, adding them some amrs. Also went a bit futher on the back

Latest update. For now I remove the spirit placements but I keep themfor the final piece. I worked a bit on their masks and after putting both 3 next to each others, I think I am going to rework the design of the first one.
Also made some update on the character itself

Daily update, still concepting in 3D adding new things here and there. Actually I think I am going to stop adding new elements before it becomes too messy and start refining what I have.

EDIT: Just made a few quick updates on the spirit, giving them a body

Diddn't have a lot of time to work on it this weekend but stll made a few adjustements. The major one is that I change my material... which pretty sums up my weekend actually.
Anyway... I think I also solved the problem of "how the hell am I going to do the hands so they look interesting". Gonna work on that next

New update. Tried to switch for chains instead of tissue. Not sure which one I'm going to choose as I need to work a bit more on the chains.

This is the "I have no idea what I am doing but it's fun" part. I could go around for hours

I am also starting to really like the idea of the chains. Adding some weapons at the end of it could be interesting.

Working on the retopology. Not such a fun part to show but still, here is some wip

Also worked a bit on the spirits, giving them weapon.

New wip. Character is fully rigged and ready to be posed. Also made some high poly details and while launch the baking process. I am a bit behind schedule with christmas done and new year eve coming but i still hope I will be able to finish it before the 6th without rushing it

Had some time to test some colors but for some reasons I am really struggling with that part.. changing my mind all the time. Anyway here is what I have for the moment. I am gonna try to keep it as simple as possible so I don't loose too much time on it

Just a shot in the dark, did you try blanka(street fighter) colors? That might work well with this. Villains can still be see as menacing with alt colors from the standard. I like the wood bits, guess he's sanded down some so no dark transitions on the more brighter bits. Just suggestions, details are cool.

Thanks for the suggestion, that color combination is not a bad idea, I haven't tried green-orange yet. At first I tried Akuma's colors but I couldn't manage to make the mask stands out enough which is actually the biggest problem I have since I started the colors.

Really should have think about this earlier.. That's a lesson learned for next year

And sorry but I am not sure to understand what you mean with the sanded down part, my brain is kind of in sleep mode at the moment

Trying new colors combination and refining texturing, I ended up with this. I like the djinn feel that comes out of it. Might change the hair color again but this might be close the final version of it
