I'm a beginner but I figure this would be a fun way to jump into 3d. I love both scifi and fantasy so it was hard to choose one but in the end I decided to go with the fantasy side of things cause I really wanted to make an awesome bearitaur...minubear. I dunno what you would call it...a bear man!

Anyway just doing some loose sketches, trying to decide what look I want for him. I do want to go for a more fantastical, colorful rendition of a bear. Like an Arzuros from the Monster Hunter games. Anyway I hope I'm able to complete this in time..x.x I am starting pretty late in the game. But either way it will be a nice learning experience.

if you go onto 3D like you did with drawing, i guess this one will be good !

Nice sketches! I like the centaur-ish idea with a bear, it's unique.

@peresus Thank you so much! And I am leaning toward horns too...I don't want to over design but at the same time horns are awesome...o.o

@engcenti Thank you! I don't know why we don't see more centaur like creatures with other animal combinations more often. Seems like a nifty concept.

Some more updates...super unsure about whether or not to go straight bear or do some sort of bear tiger lion thing...hate being indecisive

This is so cool Love the concept you did for it, and it translates really well over to your sculpt, hopefully that hair doesn't give you too much trouble

I think I'm finally happy with the shapes of him...Now to model the armor!! This will be fun considering I haven't really done any hard surface modeling before. x.x'

your sculpt is looking great! IMO the back legs need more mass, seems like they wouldn't really be able to hold all that weight in the front of the body

Startin to do the first detail pass, decided to just clean up the armor in zbrush...I wanted a rough, dented armor look anyway.

Juste my own opinion, there are too much plates on the back/bottom. Maybe a mix with medieval caparison?

I see where you are coming from. I was actually thinking of getting rid of the plate and doing some tattered leather armour instead around the sides and back.
