Started to thumbnail some rough ideas, 1 - 2 min each. So far thinking 'archer leaping into the air, lining up a shot.' I'll be sketching some concepts for the character to get a better idea of where I'm headed.
Concepts for the arcane archer. The goal was to merge a mage and ranger look, and have an elegant outfit that frees her arms so that she can summon fiery arrows. Her arms, eyes and maybe runes on her skin light up and glow with fire when she summons the arrows

Final character concept:
Started on the final illustration. Thinking an army fighting for the fire faction definitely needs a badass fire-breathing dragon 
I like the action pose, it's super dynamic. And the dragon definitely looks badass!
