Hi, my name is Laurine, I'm 20 and I'm a student in Game Art. Here is what i created for the Artwar. I chose the water element for my creature, which is inspired by Siamese fighting fish, Seals, lions and bits of mythical creatures

Full name : Laurine Oriard

I started by drawing silhouettes in order to find a shape that would work for me. After that, i tried to sketch and study how fins works. Next i will try to figure out how to make this creature a combattant by studying armors and fighting poses to fit the Artwar, but i think i’d rather do a defender than a fighter

8 days later

Here I tried to find what armor my creature should wear. I kind of like the first one because it looks like shrimps or lobsters. As for the texture, I think I will paint leather armor. The next step is finding colors that will fit the creature and also sketching composition for my final illustration

Here is my color studies for my creature. I think i will chose de third one for the contrast between the blue and the reddish leather armor

Is an interesting concept, i think if the veil of the tail and neck were longer and more colorfull in the extremes ,maybe some magenta like in certain fighters fishes, it would be more vibrant, but is just my opinion and that i like magenta an try to put it in lot of works jeje. The glow of the helmet is a good touch for a focal point.

Thank you ! I originally wanted to do a more colorful one but i thought that it could easily become agressive to the eye, moreover, because it is a more defensive creature, i thought that doing a blueish one would be more accurate to the environment, I think a magenta one would have hard time to hide underwater if that makes sense ? but thanks for your advice, i will keep the idea of the helmet!!

I will start soon my final illustration so here are all my references that I used to create this. I hope i will succeed in finishing the illustration in time
