Hi, my name is Rafal Doobsz and I am currently working as a Level Designer in indie game studio, but I aspire to be character artist one day. You can find some of work here - www.artstation.com/doboszrafal

Entering this contest is a challenge for me itself. I struggle with making new character, because I am anxious and thinking I will never create a good one.... So with te new year I would love to break that barrier, don't build a pressure for myself and just have fun. Have pure fun while creating/sculpting something. Also I would love to learn to be proficient in Zbrush, because I haven't used it for a while due to my work and other project after that.
I don't know if my entry is going to be good, but main goal is to finish it.
I know it's a bit late for entering, but I'll do my best to finish in time and post every major progress. I hope some of you will help me with that - Thanks in advance

So, I am big fan of Avatar series if it comes to elements, therefore I am planing to create earth bender in mixed western knight and eastern warrior elements. I want to keep the project stylized and sculpt very slim character with big hands and feet, and maybe small head.

In case of my character itself , I have some background in mind:
Toribko is one of the soldiers of the Earth Nation. His passion to protect everyone has led him to the very frontier of the land where he can be the first shield for his people.

And this is my ref file:

Thanks for opportunity to embrace my fear and enchance my skills.
Good Luck Everyone!

Final entry:

Sometimes the journey is more important than the end result. I feel these challenges are a learning opportunity and I know personally, both creating the concept and the 3d model can be a bit daunting. That being said, it is so fun to create your own art! Good luck with your character!

You're right it is a fun!
I know it's not a big step, but I managed to find some time, to do quick primitive base with somewhat proportions I'd like to have.

If any of you have any suggestions, I'd love to read and apply them to get the foundations better. Probably tomorrow or after tomorrow I will make nude based of that primitive.

Hello there!
Just a quick update - I wasn't satisfied with the leg proportions, so there's a quick twick.

And the next stop is a nude body sculpt

This is going to look great! Go team land! I can't wait to see how you apply that stone texture.

Hello there! Long time no post  .

I tried to sculpt whole nude, but because of my busy time with work and other projects, I didn't. Still have hands, feet and head to go.

@JoseTijerin Thanks for kind words!

ll try to have it finished by Thursday, because it's not much time left, and I have to concept clothes and armor. Wish me luck and till the next time(post)!

Hello again!
I managed to almost get done with nude. I am pretty happy of the outcome, but there's still head to go. I had to resize hands and feet a little, because I didn't like how it connected ot the forearm and leg.

From now on I will focus on head (face) and start to concept his outfit.

I have one question for you guys. How do you deal with an area within triceps and scapula, what's the best way to make them separate them without breaking the rest. Thanks in advance for your guidance

What I normally do is make sure the basemesh's arms are higher in a t-pose before dynamesh. But currently you can mask out both arms then transpose rotate to a higher t-pose, then sculpt the armpits out. If you're still dynameshed it shouldn't be a problem.

Hello again guys!
First of all, thank tou @ymereg3333 for help. I used your instructions to solve my problem.
As always little late for the party and I need to work twice as fast to get it done, but for now I have done base, hair and little bit of polypaint. I still have lacks of anatomy, but I will try better next time

For now you can see my progress here:

Next time I hope to have shape concept of outfit and then go on with sculpting detail. Wish me luck!
Till next time

Hi guys!
So today I made a outfit blockout. I am still not happy about it and definitely will make some changes, but the deadline is coming therefor I don't have much options and have to quickly progress.

Oh my.... it was a hell of a rush for finish line.

Here's my final entry. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do everything I've wanted, but deadline is deadline. Hope you like it
