Some of the apparel and armour will certainly have the maple leaf motif in them! As for other icons and patterns it's a little hard to say.
Aside from the cultural histories of the First Nations, since it's so young, Canada doesn't have much to its name that hasn't been stereotyped to death. Maybe crossed hockey sticks...
Pushed things around a bit to tighten up the focus on the bird as per suggestions. Bit more detail to the background elements too. Kinda sucks to lose some of the base but them's the breaks!
This is the first time i've really, 'freely' painted in digital. Not the first time doing digital work, but translating what I know from canvas painting to computer in regards to light, colour and texture has been a gut-wrenching challenge. Found some brushes that I like the look and feel to, and gives it a bit more of a loose feel when blocking in larger shapes.

I guess that about does it, I don't think I can really add much more so, to all things comes an end! Talk about a learning-curve these past couple months, I don't know how industry professionals do it! Between banging my head against a wall through every step, and the constant second-guessing myself, this has been a wild self-teaching moment!
I'm hoping this pushes me further into learning more about digital painting, particularly once I have the finances and time to take courses. There were points that I absolutely LOVED within the process and others that felt like pulling out finger nails.
But there's nothing like throwing yourself into the pool to learn how to swim right?
