Some sketches that I made for the pose and the compositions, from which the finished illustration would result.

After a while and opinions from other people, I finally had two thumbnails left.

With this composition and the movements of the character, I have to redesign the outfit.
So the (almost) final character concept was born  .

I decided to combine the favored design with the traditional costume of my homeland.

Now I could start working on the illustration ... a few steps have been taken.

Unfortunately, I am not so sure about color, especially when there are many elements in one picture at once, which is why I started working out in black and white.
Afterwards I started adding color.

10 days later

I really like the design, great colors, great flow, great expression!
Not sure if the post above (with grey background) is your concept sheet, but don't forget to put a simple back view in there, since it is required in the challenge. Would be a shame, if this would affect your chances to win😉
Keep up the great work!

Oha! Thanks a lot for your advice! I totally forgot about it!
I will start today with her back view

I am currently up to finish it.
As always, I get unsure of the colors towards the end. The differences are mostly minimal, but they mean a lot to me haha
I currently have 8 versions, depending on which one it will be towards the end, I have to make minor adjustments such as herhead and the hand that is too big>. <
In addition, I forgot her back view in her costume design, luckily I was pointed out to me (very, very grateful!)

I like the 4. or... the second top one on the right xD
I think she really stands out in this one because the contrast in her clothes and everything is higher and the colors are more vivid. The environment isn't as colorful as in the bottom right corner, this leads to a clear focus on her ^^ For me this one is very lively and the environment supports the focus on your character.👍🏼

Thank you so much!
I have such difficulties with colors because I always tend towards the less saturated ones. I also have the picture in black and white and that's the best haha
But yeah, you're right, that's where it comes out

Here is my final illustration and character concept. I had a lot of fun with it and learned a little bit more about my roots.
The bright colors of the Serbian national flag gave me a little grief, but basically I'm happy with the end result

Thanks  I am as well happy I finished, even if it didn't look like it at the beginning

I tried now quiet a while (still in time) to change my entry, because even though I resized it, the JPEG was still 1,04mb. so I resized it to 854kb. I don't now what teh problem was, but it would be sad to be disqualified due of an upload error :frowning:
I don't know how strict the file sizes have to be. I am annoyed with myself for not noticing it sooner. Still, Art War was a great experience

I feel you, I had to resize way too many times to get into the 1mb limit. Still, I really like the illustration! Good job!

Very nice character and illustration! I really like her design
